Bedard’s defense was spot on there. On a 2 on 1 you take the pass let the goalie see the shot. Knight was not in good position to make that save.

These comments are absolutely stupid. Y’all act like you know hockey when you sound stupid as hell. He was playing the passing lane which would be right if Jordan was parallel with the other attacker. He was so far forward that bedard should have left the lane for somebody else closing in on defence while he pressured the puck to buy time and pressure the shot. So no. He didn’t do “exactly what he was supposed to do”.

There needs to be more stick action or head fake for a body check before you cover the pass so that the winger doesn’t just take all that space and have time to set up aim and snipe . You can see the winger take the space as soon as the defender gives it to him .
Ya he did his job as a forward he was to far back to catch him before the entry over the blue line and thought to himself better eliminate the one timer but damn don’t make it so obvious that your not going to challenge the winger at all because you need to use your eyes and body language to say … “ hey I might get you but I’m also covering the pass strongly

Bedard did what he was supposed to do, took away the option, its to bad his goalie didn't take the shot. Clearly he is cheating for the pass, horrible angle, Stall could see nothing but net.

This is classic 2 on 1 defense. He took away both the pass and a cut to the slot. The goalie has nothing but the shooter to focus on. This is 100% on the goalie, who got beat cleanly.
