Buffalo Sabres DROP the Montréal Canadiens for a HUUUGE win in the standings
The Buffalo Sabres had a massive game in the standings against the Canadiens, and they went into Montréal and grabbed two points. Jumping out to another hot start, featuring Jason Zucker, the kid line getting another goal, this time from Zach Benson, and a sixty minute effort from Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen got the job done. The win puts the Sabres within two points of Montréal for a top-three spot in the Atlantic Division.
However, the win was another game where the Sabres got out to a multi goal lead, that they nearly blew. NEARLY. Once again, after a panicky second period, the Sabres locked it down in the third period, just long enough for Peyton Krebs to ice it with an empty netter. Sneaky Joe has a theory on why the Sabres keep letting teams back into games, and it starts with the Sabres’ defensemen.
Plus, a preview of Sabres vs. Islanders.

Idk if I consider 3-0 against a really good team is blowing a lead but they got it done that’s all that matters
Sneaky Joe extra Sneaky today
Pierre McGuire on Canadiens post game they shut down everybody else. They just can’t handle Thompson, but if they were to run him in the playoffs in the playoffs, it’s different. It’s a five man defense not just three to stop a player.
Maybe the Sabres should trade for Arber Xhekaj since Montreal has to many defense and with both Bryson and Kesselring injured at the moment maybe Jarmo could trade for Arber to help with the possible playoff run. Plus, I'm sure Arber would rather play for Lindy Ruff rather than St. Louis.
Remember when Joe thought the Senators would be good and Sabres wouldn’t make the playoffs?
This team has me believing @lockedonsabres fast, aggressive, young, tough and skilled. Who do you think they could realistically add that would take this team to another level
You DO watch hockey, right? The average NHL score is 3-2. We’re doing fine. Chill!
HUUUGE
It seems that there are big come backs every night in the NHL.
I’m may concerned about the Olympic break. How quickly do they get back into the flow
Benson’s more like a Honey Badger.
The official description of a Honey Badger is: “A fierce, intelligent mammal known for its toughness, adaptability, and aggressive nature”. If that doesn’t describe Benson, I don’t know what does.
Besides, Benson The Badger has a nice ring to it.
