‘Oilers give up three goals in franchise record 37 seconds’: Rishaug on loss to Penguins
TSN Oilers reporter Ryan Rishaug joined SC with Jay Onrait to discuss Edmonton’s loss to the Penguins on Thursday and the rare off night from Connor McDavid.
This proves why PLAYOFFS need to stop division format!! Oilers don't have to try. They can crap the bed all year long cuz it won't matter. They get automatic bye to semi finals cuz Pacific is crap! Meanwhile, the 3 best teams in the NHL all in one division (Central) have to have a cup final match up in round 1 just like last year. Last year it was Stars vs Avs, this year it might Wild vs Stars and out of the 3 best teams in the NHL only 1 can come out of it alive. Oilers only have to play pretenders like Kings every year for 5 straight years. They might get the Ducks or Sharks or Kraken …wow so NOT scary. VGK looks better this year but they are not the same team that won the Cup back in 21. So Oilers really don't have to do anything. They will easily win the Pacific every single year until new teams rise up.
Divisional format really is dumb. You can't have the 3 best teams all trapped in one division have to kill each other off. The best should face the worst and elimination until the finals. Why do we have to see every single year the Avs vs Stars vs Jets (last year presidents trophy) vs Wild (this year cup contenders) while we watch the Oilers vs Kings for the 5th straight year in a row like there is really any surprise the outcome of that match up.
That slashing call on McDavid against Karlsson was a joke, and I am even a Penguins fan saying this. I would have been pissed if it was the other way around.
TSN and Ontario love hating on the Oilers. Glad I don’t pay a cent for TSN’s woke programming anymore. All these scrubs still pissy they can’t broadcast any real hockey games on their shitty network.
That deflection goal by Crosby was insane, no goalie is stopping that. If that happened in EA's NHL video game, I'd be complaining that the physics engine was broken.
