Boomer, Pinder and Rhett kick around the idea of whether the Calgary Flames could actually make a move to acquire Tij Iginla, the son of Flames legend Jarome Iginla. With Calgary holding plenty of trade chips and Utah Hockey Club pushing for a playoff spot, the guys debate if a deal even makes sense — before Rhett ultimately pours some cold water on the idea and explains why it’s probably not happening.

But Tij would bring SO much excitement
Honestly, if you acquired Tig no one would be expecting him to be anything like his dad. You'd be hoping for a good player no doubt, and he's a 6th overall pick. That being said, he'd be warmly embraced here and think he'd be in a better sitatuion then Utah. He still hasn't excelled there so far, so I don't think a trade would be that far-fetched.
He's young , hes good he needs time. He got his dad's really good guy not sure hes developed his dad's grit yet. Should be an excellent player.
Parehk for Iginla all day, straight up
I would trade for him, move our hot shot defender for him
Wrote this as a comment on Ryan Smith’s interview with Seravalli this week.
Mr. Smith, I feel you have an excellent young team full of nhl talents.
I think your team respectfully really only lack in one key area;
strong veteran experience to take you to the next level and really push for championship quality.
Look no further than the humble CALGARY FLAMES
You need the grit and talent of a NAZEM KADRI and the unquestioned ethic and leadership of a BLAKE COLEMAN.
With the logjam of talent you have already up front, might I suggest parting ways with the likes of UNDERPERFORMING TIJ IGINLA and BOAT-ANCHOR COLE BEAUDOIN?
I’m sure they’d even retain and let you dump a bad contract player if you throw in a first rounder to make the cap work….
Come on, it’ll be a late round pick anyway, you guys would be stacked!
Just give it some thought, GIVE CONROY A CALL before your Vets get snapped up!
Tij😂😂😂😂 kid sucks!! U Lames fans just love him cause of his last name! THis kid is an entitled kid!! who would never be in the NHL if it wasnt for his daddy.. kid is MIKE COMRIE 2.0
Stop with this please.
I disagree. Get Tij!
agree with Rhett the pressure would break him likely ruin him, too many sentimental twits in this town.
Let Tij develop with Utah then he can walk his way to Calgary if he wants to at 26.
Tij is exactly what the flames need!!!! Do it for the fans
Think of the jersey sales
I like the CFL hat. To have another Iginla would be friggin awesome.
Max Domi is playing for Toronto. Ties Domi’s home base.
Tij probably finishes his career in Utah. He's a gamer and likely will wear a letter for them.
TJ IGINLA ZAYNE PAREKH GAVIN MCKENNA….future for the flames
Why not Shane Wright? Hes available now. I want your guys opinion on the Flames getting him. Cheers!
If we inquired, Utah would probably ask about Zayne, and I wouldn't even consider it if I we're Conroy, I'd be instantly hanging up the phone. I'd take Parekh on my team over Tij all day everyday.
Completely agree Rhett.
With this management and this dogshit coaching staff. They would destroy his career. He’d go 3 games without a point and he’d be in the press box for a week.
Yeah no I’m good.
They have a pipeline of kids: Desnoyer too. I see Doan signed a big contract as he's developed well in Buffalo with ice time. Utah's sitting pretty as a buyer, in a buyers market, so why panic. Conroy did well i think; & still at that cowboy pocker table… hahaha
No.
