Greig targets Raymond with a full body check well away from the play – Tough Call Review

Ridly Greig was lucky to get a minor penalty for this cheap shot on Lucas Raymond.

  1. The border on the video shrinks the image and makes it hard to see on a phone. And in the opening video clip it covered the play. You might want to shrink the border.

  2. Very dumb completely unnecessary interference from Greig, hard to not see the classic Raymond flop pattern in that tragic fall

  3. I think there needs to be more discretion on the non-hockey plays category. There should be no hard minimum for it. The actual degree of severity should be must more heavily weighted.

I feel like it'd be better to treat intention almost as a multiplier. It'd stop situations where the judgement is teetering between 0 games and 6 games. I'd like to see suspensions for these plays, but not 6 games – that's incredibly steep.

  4. Very dirty and intent to injure imo. Raymond is a low-key agitator and may have oversold the hit to some extent, but there's no place for that hit in today's game.

  5. Stuff like this could easily be catastrophic. Anything non-hockey that results in injury should be 10-game minimum. Cut this crap out of the game.

  6. This kind of cheap shot is really unforgiveable. Instead of ban the player, can we also give minus points to the team too?? Such dirty hit can injure others.

  7. Cheep shot but shoulder on shoulder and raymounds lying on the ice for 5 mins might be embellishment there

  8. 2min interference is the right call. What you are trying to get at holds no relevance because he didn't hit him in the head. IF he had hit him in the head it would most likely have been a suspension of 1-5 games, my guess would be 2-3.

But he hit the shoulder so 2min interference is the correct call!
