  1. We were at the game at Roger’s Place against Columbus on Nov 10. Oilers actually won that game in overtime, I lost my voice.

  2. RE: Podkolzin…This is a typical Knoblauch move. Punishes young players who either score or step up in. some other way.

  3. even though I hate Craig Button, I agree with him, 'Nurse is running off aimlessly', I never see much Hockey-IQ in what Nurse does. If he were a 1.5M defender, then perhaps. If I were him, I would be ashamed staying on this roster.

  4. I admit I am biased because Vasily is a friend of mine, but I think he's getting a raw deal by the Oilers coaching staff, all because he stepped up to protect his captain. It's not Vasily's fault the officials were heavy handed and invoked the instigator rule, when the situation wasn't really in the spirit of that rule. If anything, i think the Oilers need more players like Vasily on their roster, that play from whistle to whistle.

  5. One thing that bothers me a bit (and please don't take this is a slight or attack on McDavid) is that McDavid tends to have a bit too much say on the roster and management of this team. We have Jeff Jackson, his former agent, we have Knoblauch, his former coach, and now the rumor that he is insisting that Pickard stays on the team. I get it, he's a great player, but there is a point where he is too involved with the management side of the team.

  6. Awesome I live in Ontario so yeah, I had to stay up late to watch the first period and a half but after that I was like screw it! I’m going to bed. But I will say this 20 minutes is more than enough time to score a goal and when you talk about depth scoring, our only goal last night was scored by Matt Salois so I would say we definitely had depth scoring. It’s our top tier that didn’t show up to capitalize last night.

  7. Does it even matter waving pickard and calling up another player? KNOB has 4 guys playing 8-10 mins a game. They call someone else up to play 5 mins maybe

  8. I am not against benching and sitting a guy for a shift or two. It ends a point and it sometimes sends a message that other players on the team due to friendships don’t want to send themselves.

  9. IF true about leadership stopping Picks from being sent down or traded, they really can't complain about not winning. You have to pick. Be friends, have a room you like at all costs, or win. If you get both, great, but most times, this isn't really how it works.

Or, Pickard retires and they hire him as an equipment guy or something. Hes obviously not the answer in net anymore.

  10. One more comment, Austin. The whole cow ticker thing, OK I don’t think it’s a team thing. I don’t think it’s a management thing. I think it’s purely a Connor McDavid thing. He took a pay cut to stay with us for two years and I bet he’s got a lot of leverage when it comes to what happens with the roster. My guess is that waving or trading cow Pickard is a no go for Connor McDavid. He probably sees him as some sort of big brother or father figure. I don’t know exactly what it is but he wants Cal there when they lift that cup. I think that’s becoming more and more evident. Remember when we all thought Pickard would get traded and not Skinner? Lol boy were we all wrong lol

  11. OK, I lied. Sorry, one more. This is nothing to do with the game or the Oilers per se. It’s a fundraising idea for you to possibly raise some money to grow and develop your channel or to buy some playoff tickets to go see the Oilers in the playoffs, because we all know that they’re going to the playoffs!. Sell tickets I don’t know how much five bucks 10 bucks 15 bucks to enter a raffle. In the winner of said Rafal gets to be featured as a co-commentator with the one and only Austin hockey on the Austin hockey YouTube channel for one episode.

  12. I think a big reason why Pickard is kept on the roster is because of how injury prone Jarry is. They want to run three goaltenders so they can have extra insurance that way they don’t have to call up Ungar or Tomkins from Bakersfield if Calvin Pickard is claimed off of Waivers. The leadership group actively talking to Stan Bowman about keeping Calvin Pickard does seem very credible given how great in the Locker Room Pickard has reportedly been, but I think knowing Jarry’s injury history is a valid reason as to why keeping Pickard is a good idea for the rest of the season.

  13. Ingram has no resume thats worthy in the NHL. Jarry is an injury prone bum, that the Penguins tried to dump on waivers but no team wanted him except the pigeons in Edmonton Oilers management.

  14. @AustinHockey YT Pickard or Skinner weren't the main reason the Oilers didn't win the Stanley Cup. Panthers whooped the Oilers last Stanley Cup. Connor McDavid was interviewed after the game six bad loss saying. No excuses for the Oilers but that the Panthers were a really good club. First Stanley Cup loss was because of the going down 3 – 0 at the start. Panthers were better defensively and on the forcheck. Panthers were more physical and had better GOALTENDING . What do you expect Babrovsky was earning 10 million per season fir a reason. Oilers had dollarstore quality goalies in Skinner and Pickard compared to Babrovsky. Austin did you honestly BELIEVE the Oilers were going to pull off the heist of the century winning the Stanley cup with Skinner and Pickard who were earning peanuts 🥜 per season? You get what you pay for.

  15. Oilers forwards may have been gassed in the second cuz of those 17 mins without podz, juggled lines through the entire 2nd period, Hyman being 1-2 CM away from tying the game a few times, and a questionable embellishment penalty.

I think the boys played well considering the circumstances of the game! Good effort! Allen stood on his head too. 😢

  16. Garbage hockey last night! Almost no tape to tape passes, no flow, shitty hockey over all!
All 3 goals happened within 3.5 minutes. Yawn!

  17. It's funny.
This season, the Oilers' have the best roster that they've had in three years in terms of personnel yet they suck.
    Go figure.
No where near being a Cup contender.
If not for their powerplay, they wouldn't even be in the race for a wildcard spot.
    Totally 'pathetic'!
    PS. Get rid of Knoblauch!

  18. What is the deal with 3 games in a row, are they throwing that 3rd game. Even teams below 500 hockey can pull it off at least once

  19. Clearly this management value playoff experience, you don’t put a player who can step up at critical moment on waiver. It doesn’t matter how bad his regular season is, they are hopping for a miracle in case both our new goalies melt in playoff
