Even though Hamilton has EVERY right, to exercise the terms of his contract (no one, but TF is to blame) you CANNOT allow him to hold the team hostage over a potential trade. This, may be just what’s needed although it’s a bit dirty. By forcing his hand. I knew FitzFailure was making a big mistake, when he signed Kovo to that contract, freezing Nemec out. Anyway, TF has REALLY effed this club up.
Call this a very steep learning curve for fitzy that he seems to still be on. Piling this on dougie is cheap shots by the club. The coach should be getting a grip of the play on the ice. I remember him being the last big free agent because since then teams lock up the top players rather than letting them hit the market. His game has slipped for a while. Is he possibly one of those players that has a shelf life if you look back through his nhl career?

(YES I KNOW THEY PLAY DIFFERENT POSITIONS) Saying as a guy who TRIES ALWAYS, motor always going and getting involed with the hustle and the way EVERY GUY PLAYS COMES POSTSEASON. THE POSTSEASON IS A DIFFERENT BRAND OF HOCKEY!!! Hamilton is a ME GUY NOT A WE GUY!!! Why hes been on what 4 or 5 different teams, never lasted more then 4 years on 1 team. EVERY TEAM GETS SICK OF HIS HORRIBLE DEFENSE AND HIS HORRIBLE ALWAYS INJURED ASS AND GETS HIM GONE AFTER 3 SEASONS USUALLY 4 AT MOST!!!

Dougie Hamilton may be a good guy outside of hockey but he has not performed at a level that justifies the money they are paying him. I don't think Dougie has checked a single player in his life and he's a defenseman. No excuses.
Why the hell would anyone want to stay in Jersey??? Id waive my no trade clause to go to Nebraska .
Tom Fitzgerald should really be on the hot seat. Fitzgerald gave Hamilton the NTC/NMC that’s on management. The Devils downfall came when Fitzgerald botched the Quinn Hughes deal! #Fact

The only thing I think that was BS from Dougie's agent is claiming that this isn't about his game and that it's just a business issue. He simply isn't going to say anything negative about Dougie's game because he isn't going to want to say anything publicly that could possibly hurt his value to potential suiters (not that anyone worth their salt can't do a little research and see what hasn't been working for Dougie lately). The angle is going to be all about pushing the narrative that Dougie needs a change in scenery and he would be a great addition for a team in need of veteran leadership and experience to guide young D-men. I'm still not sold on Kovacevic's value because he hasn't had enough time to really prove himself, although I have a lot more faith in what he's capable of at this point than Hamilton. Hate to see the man go, but the player has lost his place on this roster.
He's got 10 points in 45 games way over due. Palat better be next
My prediction: the Jets and Wild will beat the Devils in both games. The Devils will allow, at minimum, four goals against in each game.
He hasn't been right after the injuries.
I predict Hamilton will be traded within the next 7 days.
Also, MacEwen will be out for the rest of the season. That will open up some cap space, too.
Tom Fitzgerald's litany of mistakes is long and kinda impressive. How does this guy remain in his job when his incompetence is on display day in and day out? Year in and year out? Fitzgerald has screwed up this team and tied it into knots with his stupid contracts to the wrong players.
I’m just wondering if all of you were GM’s if you would tie up 3 RD’s with NTC’s in their contract and also use your first and second round picks in the draft on RD’s that are considered a reach at the time and when you need forward and goalie help…which btw happened to be available in said draft.
