  1. No way Peterson is drama. I would rather they go for Dougie Hamilton. Peterson is 11M plus. And Canucks area dumpster fire. Chicago can have him and his baggage. He's ek 65 part 2. A huge diva he's a cancer for this team big huge mistake.

  2. Not a player I expect GMMG to pursue. First like everyone, they need defensive help more than anything. Second, he has sounded like a bad locker room player. Third, I do not think GMMG would want to give up anything of importance to acquire him and his contract.

Like another commenter said, I would rather Hamilton between the two. And I believe Hamilton only if GMMG can not get a younger RD that can play middle pair or above minutes (between 23 and 27).

A hard pass for me, but I appreciate the discussion.

  3. I agree with the comments of not needing more offense having a better defense will actually help us create more offense with the folks that we do have. If anything once Will Smith comes back, we almost have too many forwards. Let’s get a core defenseman to build around and then we’re talking.

  4. Yeah, I’m with everyone else. Hard pass. We have Misa, Celebrini, Smith, and just signed Wenneberg to more years. All of these guys play Center!!

  5. If a team wants to trade a guy just after an extension it’s a hard pass. Buyer beware.
    Besides – what they said.

Even Marner doesn’t have stellar numbers. Promote offense and D from Cuda

  6. $10+ million dollars for a guy that is projected 50 points this season with Misa patiently waiting for more ice time is exactly what we don’t need

  7. i would take the defenseman version of Peterson but we do not need a forward. this isn't a cup push year, which is when a trade like this would be great

  8. "Things just got CRAZIER". Yes indeed they would be if the Sharks pulled off this trade. It's totally unnecessary. Making the playoffs was never the goal for this team this year. Improvement was and still should be. Not for the short term but for the long haul. The Sharks are dependent on the draft and "the farm". To use up those assets fort his trade would cost them in the long run and could put their progress back 2 to 3 years. Free agents they pick up after this season would be complimentary to the youth both on the parent team and in the AHL. Look how far they've come with the youngsters they have and to sacrifice Musty and or Cagnoni along with draft picks is just not smart. Trade Skinner and Leddy along with a bucket warm of mop water if you want but nothing more. You want progress now, fix the "D".

  9. I like this only if they can immediately flip him to a team with a true need at center who’s got a top D man the Sharks can bring in. Otherwise no on this one.

  10. If it's D Elias Pettersson, I'm interested. He's the best shut down defenseman I've ever seen on a swedish U20 national team.

  11. I could see Peterson having a resurgence, and he’s definitely a distressed asset right now. With the cap projected going up so much – I wouldn’t be surprised if his contract ends up being a very valuable one. Only problem is it would block Misa at 2C but tbf he’s gotta develop more and earn that role

  12. You make a good point, but I gotta disagree that this trade needs to happen now. I do not think they went into this season with the expectation of making it to the playoffs. They would be blowing expectations out of the water if they do. I would rather give Musty and Cagoni an opportunity on the Sharks at the NHL level, than see MG rush into a player coming from a struggling team, that might mess with the existing vibes in the locker room. We still have Bysedt cooking in AHL too.
