  1. Very smart guys ! To get first line top going you cancel second line 👌😉 yeah thats so usual and wrong. Why? You put Slaf driving the play into spot of board worker!

  2. imagine thinking Laine is somehow going to help a team that needs to improve its defensive coverage and make strong plays to get into the zone and keep the puck. Or help with maintaining the culture of earning your way by being responsible. The reason they don't have shots is because they don't have the puck enough. Laine is a huge liability most nights. Everyone calls him a PP merchant, which A) is a terrible reason to take up a roster spot, and B) not even true. He WAS at one point last year but how was he towards the end of last year and the beginning of this year? not great. He had 8 in December of 2024, then only 7 for the rest of the year, 2024-25 including 0 in April while trying to clinch. Then in 25-26 he had 0 in 4 games (and a minus 3) before being put on IR. Were those important goals last year that helped us get in the playoffs? Absolutely. But if you only do one thing, at the expense of everything else, you better do it more than twice a month. He is NOT our saviour this year.

  3. Great game, great team, great fans 🙂 Slaf and Cauf silenced Senators in their house but not Habs fans 🙂

  4. They need to shot more but they're working on how to move opponents away and create space. MTL are not Carolina, they dont need to shoot as much to score, different way to play based on fast transition and puck possession.

  5. That moment when you score 6 goals and everyone is like – maybe we should shoot more?

  6. Keep the second line intact they will have better metrics as the season goes on. The Canadiens need to find someone to play on the first line with Suzuki and Caufield. Hopefully Hughes can get cook up a deal.
Keep Laine on the sidelines as long as possible.

When a team has the problems in net that Ottawa has shoot as much as you can. Force Ottawa to try an protect their goalie from not giving up 6 goals on 19 shots.

  7. The Cardiac Kids were at it again! We need another Slaf type player (if only Bergevin was listening to me scream when he took KK instead of Brady Tktchuk🤦‍♂) for the first line. Playing as the leader of the second line is what let loose the beast Slaf has become. Keep the faith and Go Habs Go!

  8. A win is a win but we were badly outplayed much of the night. D zone coverage continues to an issue that needs to be corrected. Carrier got beat off the wall by Stutzle and and Sanderson blew by him leading to a goal.
Bolduc played better! Goal disallowed and showed some jump with Evans.

  9. Why are you talking more about how many f. Fucking goals were letting in???you guys hardly ever say anything negative…

  10. I like Slaf on the kid line and only being brought up when the game needs it.

Having him and Suz split feels like our version of splitting Draisaitl and McDavid… it divides the other coaches defensive deployment. And you can bring them together; like MSL did tonight; when you need to shift up expectations and put all your eggs in one basket.

  11. This team has stamina and grit. They didn't play very well but they found a way to win. With Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky, Demidov and Hutson, we haven't seen so much offensive talent in Montréal since the Seventies! If they can improve their defensive game, they will terrify every other team in this league.

  12. In the next year or two, the Habs will find a balance between trying to set up the perfect shot and actually shooting. I find that we have too many expectations of this team at the moment. It will come and we will have a dynasty soon.

  13. The montreal canadians were up 2 they nearly lost the game being down 2 goals. We got lucky that our team actually stepped up when we pulled our goalie.Unlike the other times when we were down to Buffalo and please do not do not, and I say again. Do not praise montebou, for this game. He sucks, and that's the bottom line. Send him down to Laval, or get rid of them because he's being protected by somebody in the organization that don't want to trade him because he's related to somebody probably. And most likely montebo is one of the worst goalies i've ever seen in canadiens' history

  14. I'd keep doing what Marty did. Keep Slaf on the second line and switch him once in a while on the first line in desperate situations. Dach and Laine 3rd and forth line. I would put Newhook on the first line. That second line is too good to be split up. Cole and Nick can make anyone look good!

  15. Identity game? Whats the identity? Get walked in your own zone and make sure the other teams goalie lets goals in like stray kittens? Cmon, there was no identity here. I love this team but they need to buckle down in the d zone. Stop the man coverage. Its not working. Our goalies are suffering because of it. And SHOOT THE PUCK!!!!

  16. Great game to watch ! Who wants those 2-1 boring games played along the boards to oblivion? Both teams have lots of skills but we prevailed in the end. Slaf is in another league now. The haters are just hiding now for the most part ! Looks like we got another rookie of the year in the bag with Demigod & next year it will be Hage !!
While it was 5-3, tuned down the volume and started listening to Enter Sandman ! It worked !
    “ Take my hand,
We are headed to Habsland again !!”
    LFG !!!

  17. Great comeback win last night. I look forward to the return of injured players. Quite frankly the bottom six, line 3 and 4 suck. Remove Veleno, for one. Give Gallagher a break, ASAP.

  18. It was pond hockey , we have no defensive structure at all , beer league style of game does not go far in playoffs , just ask the leafs .

  19. to be fair, they were dominated, monty 85% save percentage. habs get crushed if the ottawa goalie didnt have a 60% save percentage. Slaf stays on line 2

  20. I'm guilty, I thought it was fine at 5-3…went to bed. But the boys did me proud by Sunday morning. I'm 69 years old, cut me some slack…I need more beauty sleep these days.

  21. We didn't deserve to win, we were luckier than the opponent who has a problem with the goalkeeper. This year we lost 13 games when we had a clear lead, which is not only a problem for the players but also a clear problem for the coach who doesn't know how to fix it. If this game was in the playoffs, the other team would send us to golf and end the season.Gally has no business playing anymore, with all the respect. MSL is not as good a coach as you insist on the channel. Not even close. My opinion. We are at the top of the division but we can also easily get out of the playoffs if this continues throughout the season.Stupid penalties are also a huge problem.

  22. You guys are reminding me of 2021 play-offs and Cory Perry throwing the stick in the garbage…garbage goals win games ,,throw the puck on net!

  23. If Monteabeau wasn't such a useless goalie the Habs wouldn't have to score 6 goals to win a game. He is not a NHL caliber starting goalie. Everytime the opposing team scores a goal, he lifts his mask and drinks water. He should be hiding his face.

  24. As a Habs fan the only thing that concerns me a lot is that we do not shoot enough and we get in our zone we get STUCK there. Additionally, in the playoffs there is no 3 on 3 and we suck at 5 on 5. We need to win to start winning games in regulation.

  25. Its like when you used to put in your ps2 game that doesnt always work and you pretend not to care so that it does actually work…

Yeah, that was me with this game. I shut it off and said "yeah they can win without me watching"
