  1. Mark my words, St. Louis is going to be Stockholm West under Steen. Broberg, Stenberg, Lindstein, the Jr goalie Harenstam. I do like this contract, particularly since before the season, I heard rumors of Broberg signing for 10+/yr. With his slow start and then injury, I think Holloway is going to cost less than expected to re-sign. But, I do think the Blues might need to get some vet contracts off the books. Dvo and Stenberg seem ready and the Blues should draft high enough to get another player that is likely ready or super close.

  2. Is Demko ever healthy? Reminds me of Street Clothes Davis from the Mavs… atrocious contract and always injured

  3. Would be interesting to see if sens could pickup up Hamilton
Seems like an upgrade on Jensen at this point. But I dont think we can afford the cap hit at all

  4. Dougie Hamilton is like that old joke about boats: "the second happiest day of my life was the day I bought my boat. The happiest was the day I sold it." Hamilton isn't a bad player but because of his size and where he was taken in the draft, he's always overrated and over paid. After watching him almost every game for 3 years in Calgary, I knew the Devils signing him for that money and term was a big mistake.

  5. Hamilton's awful. If he was playing to his contract, there would be no problem. His slap shot is gone. He's a step slower. He's a big body who doesn't check anyone. He doesn't seem to give a damn. He's 32 and plays like 42. Who needs that? Screw the analytics. Just watch him play for a while. Whatever happened to watching the games?

  6. Hey Hockey Guy, have you noticed any trends about what teams are frequently and infrequently appear on the news boards? šŸ¤”

  7. Brenden Dillon has more points that Dougie.
Dougie was already iffy on defense. If he isn't going to score, he's a 6'6" traffic cone.
    At $9m.

  8. Hamilton is a good character guy and I’m sorry to see it end this way. But my take is that he just doesn’t fit under Sheldon Keefe’s system. Under Lindy Ruff, he was the quarterback of the power play. He had his spot high in the slot and teammates would feed him for his rocket shot. Under Keefe, it seems they try to collapse the play down low, usually to the right circle before taking the shot. Dougie’s role is not the same under his coach. At the start of the season, he seemed to play uncharacteristically physical. Made sense for his size, but not his character. That didn’t last.

  9. I know Shannon that , you finish every video with ā€œ don’t tell me how to do my jobā€ but …what about , at the end of some news updates, including you answering one question from comment section or your thoughts on a comment… again, not telling you what to do… šŸ¤“

  10. I hope Bruins also extend Steeves, Kolyachonok, Lysell and Harris. They can trade Arvidsson with Peeke

  11. Unfortunately, with Demko
, it flashes me back to Kirk McLean days were Kirk McLean injured his knees and was never the same. I think demko’s career is numbered unfortunately because I didn’t if it wasn’t for the injuries, he could be one of the best goalies in the NHL. but with all these injuries, I think his career is numbered. It’s only a matter of time that he retires.

  12. Is Hamilton a fit for the Jets? lol they need anything they can get rn I know but still. Always been annoyed they haven’t given their Dcore a shake up

  13. good dougie has been bad. But why is everyone wanting dougie now? devils are look for a 3C that can play top 2C mins cuz jack isnt playing center rn. Plus nj need to get size toughness while getting their speed back

  14. 33yo Hamilton (34yo in June) is $9M through 2027-2028, 9.4% of the NJD cap (tied with Luke Hughes for the highest on the team). They're making room to get Quinn for when the Wild ends their 2025-2026. NJD must feel they're done for this year.

  15. way to go JR. Another big contract to a goalie with injury concerns before his current deal is even expired. You would think he would know better…

  16. News of Demko getting injured is like news of rain in Vancouver. I honestly thought Rutherford wouldn't do a big extension for Demko unless there was a new development that meant he was no longer falling apart, given they'd already recently signed Lankinen, because that would be crazy. But apparently crazy is in the water.

  17. The Broberg extension certainly isn't high, if anything it's a steal. Dom Luszczyszyn's model shows him as an elite 1D, and he's only going to get better. This is a fantastic deal for the Blues.

  18. I thought that the Canucks team was overplaying Demko since he came back, and would burn him out in some way. Yup, predictable injury happens.

  19. Once upon a time, I would not mind seeing Hamilton go to the Canucks, but considering the current standings these days, I predict someone playoff bound like the Oilers (expensive depth guy) or the Leafs ("He's named Dougie!").

  20. I like Demko but Vancouver should just consider letting him go and get a goaltender who can play more than three games without being hurt

  21. Hamilton is not a good fit for the Leafs. He is too young to fit in with the Leafs' veteran core.

  22. Demko is way to injury prone at that point. He’s never been able to play an entire season in his career.

  23. Hamilton would be a big improvement on Ristolainen (classic Chuck Fletcher move).
