@Montreal Canadiens

I hate this team sometimes.

In a wild divisional showdown in Ottawa, the Montreal Canadiens rallied for an incredible 6-5 overtime win against the Ottawa Senators on January 17, 2026. Montreal jumped out early with goals from Juraj Slafkovsky and Cole Caufield in the first, but the Senators stormed back with four goals in the second — including scores from Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stutzle, Dylan Cozens, and David Perron to take a 4-3 lead. Ottawa then extended that lead early in the third on a Jake Sanderson tally. Facing a two-goal deficit late, Montreal didn’t quit. The Canadiens pulled their goalie and struck quickly: Slafkovsky tipped home a Lane Hutson shot, and Alexandre Carrier tied the game in under 70 seconds. In overtime, Cole Caufield buried the winner just 33 seconds in, finishing a dramatic comeback and giving Montreal the 6-5 victory. Caufield had two goals and an assist, Hutson collected three assists, and Josh Anderson chipped in with a goal and an assist as well. On the Ottawa side, Sanderson had a four-point night, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the late surge from the Habs.

  1. 6:00 you can see here that Tkachuk actually has more control over guhles stick than he does… i guess thats the thing- you gotta keep control of your stick, but once you’ve lost it and the opposing player is tossing it around… is it really your fault anymore?

  2. I have decided to meditate in the second period from now on, my stress levels are off the chart. From the start of 2 I thought they were going to lose this (Oh ye of little faith) but what a finish. Well done Habs.
I agree again with everything you have said, as they say in Scotland. Cheers bud.

  3. There needs to be accountability for the refs… I hate the coaches challenge too but there should be a review board after the game that reviews and fines the refs for each missed call. 500$ a pop for each wrong penalty call would be a start.

  4. 7:55 right at this point is when it would be nice to have sammy blais come flying through the crease like a wrecking ball and completely flatten this guy out… sometimes stick checking is for the birds

  5. That was a disjointed game indeed. Glad the Habs managed to find 2 points; feel bad for the Sens.

  6. I was at this one, we had no business winning. But I’ll take the two points and walk away. 75% of the place were Habs fans. Montembeau looks like he’s back.

  7. Implying that the player saw the stick in the hair and decided to skate into it, as got to be one of the dumbest things I heard so far this year.

  8. You’ve got to earn your Habs team membership! Lots of suffering and frustration to go with the bliss! ❤🇨🇦

  9. At some point they'll implement coach's challenges for penalty calls and misses. OR THEY COULD HIRE BETTER REFS!!

  10. You can't shoot more if there are no shooting lanes open… unless you enjoy bouncing pucks off of shinguards and the other team getting tons of breakaways on you. There just wasn't much opportunity out there.

  11. Caulfield is a huge part of this team. It’s more than just his goals… It’s his personality. The guys love him… You can tell.

  12. I was watching it during the first. Montreal outshooting and up by one.

Later that night I get back and turn the game on with less than 6 minutes left in thehame and Montreal are down by 2 and it didn't look like they had a SOG since the first haha.

But hey, because I turned the game on they made the come back.

    You're welcome guys.

  13. I'm rather done with Montembault. He may have a bright future, but it should be with another team. He's not an answer for Montreal, and we have better options. MSL needs to stop fooling round in the hope of making chicken salad out of chicken $hite.

  14. Xhekaj didn’t get much ice time and his physical game was missed. Ottawa completely shutdown the Habs pp. Refereeing was dismal, especially when there wasn’t a slashing call on Slaf’s breakaway. How was that missed? Ottawa’s over exuberance on each goal they scored was painful, but it made the win that much sweeter.😂

  15. I hate this team with all my fiber. I also love this team too much xD I'm going to be paying too many medical bills from elevated heart rate and blood pressure

  16. I stopped watching at 5 – 3 because I thought we would lose and because pittsburgh went to the shootout, my mother asked me what was the score for me because for her it says 5 – 5 I yelled and sprinted to the living room

  17. 6:15 I'l repeat what may be considered as "offensive", but it's an ineluctable correlation: the more we have European players in the league, the more such mentality of cheating and faking becomes part of the game, and I hate this. In another way, it becomes like in soccer…

  18. Monty with the usual mid 80's save percentage night, ober half the games this year, habs goaltending mid 80's SP. got lucky the sens goalie was worse

  19. The refs played a great game tonight. they should get a 2nd or 3rd star despite the loss.

  20. I got to go to the game last night, absolutely wild time🎉 a point to yours about why the sens were celebrating each goal like it was a playoff ot goal… might have been because there was easily 80% of a sellout crowd that were Habs fans, ALL over the sens in their own barn 😅

  21. You'd think the Sens would focus on stealing points instead of our sticks. What a dogshit failed rebuild of a team.

  22. It's almost like the HABS let them get 2 goals ahead, "We have them right where we want them, now." Sens are dirty, cheaters, look at the trip called when Stutzle goes down, dive or what? Upchuck is such a suck.

  23. Tkachuk and ALL the sens are legit a bunch of diving puss puss's. Turtlechuk. Not to mention they legit steal sticks off of other teams and never get called for it. I was not happy with this game AT ALL, all around… but … the heart attack habs.. DO IT AGAIN.

All i can say is … AHAHAHAHAHAH FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Sens fans! God i would be so livid if i was them, but that's KARMA baby! Not even the refs could help the sens, refs gave em the favored calls and karma bish slapped the reality back into them. Think about how bad the sens are… 19 shots total 6 goals. If the refs werent so damn biased this game would've been like 10-3.

I dont feel bad AT ALL for sens fans! That's karma. What i do feel bad for is me constantly having heart attacks every time the habs DO THIS CRAP. Like can we just have a game of them trying for the full 60 minutes?!.. PLEASE I BEG OF YOU HABS PLEASSEEEEEEEE.

    As always great video!

  24. I thought you'd put the Goon scene where the two russians tell the goalie that he can't catch a beach ball.
