NHL Trade: Senators Acquire Dennis Gilbert from Flyers for Maxence Guenette

The Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Flyers have agreed to a trade! The Senators acquire veteran defenceman Dennis Gilbert, while the Flyers get their hands on young RFA Maxence Guenette. This deal sees two teams with different strategies as the Senators look to add depth to their blue line, while the Flyers aim to develop a promising prospect.
Dennis Gilbert, a 29-year-old left-shot defenceman, brings NHL experience to Ottawa. He has played for multiple teams, including the Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche, Buffalo Sabres, and Calgary Flames. Gilbert adds a physical presence and solid defensive play to the Sens’ lineup.
Maxence Guenette, a 24-year-old left-shot defenceman, had a productive season with the AHL’s Belleville Senators. He was a 7th-round pick in 2019 and has shown steady development. The Flyers will look to nurture his potential and provide him with opportunities to grow.
This trade showcases the different approaches teams take in building their rosters. Stay tuned for more NHL trade and free agency updates!
