Fitz fielded a bunch of questions from the attending media regarding this NJ Devils team.

Everything he said during the press conference was obviously first run by ownership. So, the writing is on the wall…this franchise is completely screwed and in the worst possible hands.

Ace, this is probably why you were accused by this organization by stealing food…had you kept your press pass, I KNOW you would have been at that press conference, and I KNOW you would have followed up by asking why he didn't get Quinn. You would have asked the difficult questions. Fitz is more of a politician than a GM of a hockey team. Biggest clown in the NHL. There needs to be "Fire Fitz" chants at the rock.

Fitz believes the same thing on Wednesday as he did on Monday, regardless of any new information he receives on Tuesday.
These comments are just a mindless, aimless feeding frenzy of grievances.
The problem has been injuries and drastic underperformance of key players. Not team composition.
Fitzgerald got us Dillon, Pesce, Kovacevic. All solid defensemen.
He replaced Tatar, Haula, Lazar, Bastian, and Holtz with Brown, Glass, Gritsyuk, Dadonov, and Cotter. All upgrades.
He brought in two veteran goalies. The better of the two was ridiculously cheap.
He addressed most of the biggest concerns we had last year, outside of maybe one more top-six forward.
NONE of this was foreseeable:
Pesce being injured for 24 games.
Our second-best offensive player Jesper Bratt scoring 1 goal in ~25 games.
Dougie having 10 points in the first 40 games.
Markstrom having an abysmal .879 save %
Hischier's scoring pace dropping from 35 goals last year to maybe 25 this year.
Getting Quinn was never going to happen this season. It ONLY became a thing because we were losing and we happen to have both his brothers. There was no discussion of getting him before the year started. We did not go into this year with a shortage of offensive defensemen.
You'll notice I didn't say Fitzgerald has done a good or great job. Or, more likely, you won't.
