To me it comes down to team, when you have rockstars like the Hawkes have, its the rockstars, that make the team, not with how they play, but with the way they include all the team. The team feels that, they don't just feel like a cog. Bedard, Lev, Nazar, Rinzel, Moore, Lardis etc that's an awesome group and more to come with other prospects, you cant win cups without a full squad. But it starts from the rockstars understanding this, its the way KD has built the team from bottom up. Fun and winning hockey exciting times ahead.

Unreal game from Commesso. Absolutely awesome from the whole team, especially for a flu-ravaged team on a back-to-back.
I'm not sure I want Korchinski in the lineup against the Oilers. However, I think it would be a good idea to keep him up with the team and let him get into a real practice on Tuesday or Wednesday and follow it up with a game against the Flames.
Those Comesso and Korchinski hot takes from the last post game aged well… It was more than just last nights analysis you were saying Korchinski probably doesn't have a place in the organization. It was Steve Dangle level absurdity. Go back and listen to yourself Jay it was bad.

Why not put together a package for Panarin and have give him an extension and have him to mentor Kantserov next year. For this year the Hawks could be Wild Card 1 and go up against the Pacific Division and make it to the Conference Finals. That would be my mind set at this point.
I swear Jay, I think you guys are making the mistake of falling in love with your players. You have to see the forest through the trees. I would be willing to trade Bert to Detroit for their 2026 first round pick. Now is the time while his value is through the roof. That pick could get us an Ilya Morosov in the draft who will be a good add in a couple of years as a center or forward and with the ability to help Kantserov with communication etc. I like the idea of getting Panarin for next year as our one add to this team that is not home grown. I really do not care what Bert means to the power play. I care about a Cup in about 3 years time. You must add players with playoff upside and you need to think about using Korch for trade bait if it helps get Panarin. I do not see playoff upside in Korch. I would use one of my 1st round picks and get Daxxon Rudolph The other pick would be for Caleb Malhotra or another center depending on where we are picking.. Use your 1st 2nd round pick to get Nikita Shcherbakov LD. A draft like that would complete the rebuild. It would just be a matter of time to compete for the Cup. We are so close. I could go on about why nab more D-men, but it all comes down to understanding the new NHL and realizing you score from the back end up, not the other way around. Get players with PLAYOFF upside and get D who are strong in all three zones.
