Sharks continue to progress. The Sharks' D is much better than earlier this season but they still occasionally make blunders and Stars took full advantage. That said, the number of times the D gets caught running around in their own zone has gone down compared with earlier in the season, plus the Sharks offense seems to be much more consistent from top to bottom. Of course Celebrini got another 3 points… ho hum lol. Over the last 12 games, Celebrini has 26 points. Over the past 12 games, McDavid has 26 points… just keeping things in perspective! He is right up their with McDavid and McKinnon. Great win by the Sharks! Keep going boys – you are definitely making progress!
Dallas Stars are simply a dirty hockey team in that they are constantly cross-checking, interfering and grabbing at the opposition, including their star Rantanen whose penalty in overtime cost them the game. There is some justice in the game even if the refs can't make it happen by calling every penalty. Fans have been seeing Celebrini get cross-checked in the back many times this season in an attempt to both slow him down and injure him. Stars paid for some of their hockey sins by penalties, and 4 power play goals, but the ref did not call enough penalties to really change their behavior. Ultimately, their coach is responsible for such bad behavior. When we hockey players used real lumber sticks, slashing and cross-checking was more vicious but the penalty for intent to injure should be called more often to make this stop. I hope Celebrini starts wearing more body armor to protect his back because Ryan Reaves isn't able to stop constant cross-checking like this. How angry would GM Mike Grier get if another crosscheck in the back of his star player results in a major injury or will the NHL do something about this problem as they did something about calling slashing more often or hooking and elbowing? Boarding, hitting the head and cross-checking cause the greater injuries and it is time that the NHL stopped players from this not so subtle attempt to injure and distract a player in front of the net in particular. Hockey is hard enough on your body when it is played in a sportsmanlike way, and this elite Stars team are playing like lowlife hockey thugs. May the hockey gods punish them with much bad luck for their continuing impunity on the ice!!!
What a difference a year makes. Last year, I dreaded the 3rd period as it seemed like the Sharks were just waiting for something bad to happen. This year, I love watching the 3rd period as it feels like the Sharks are playing some of their best hockey when it matters.
I said it before the season started. I even called into Brodie's phone line and it was never used. I asked "What did the team do between the 92/93 and 93/94 seasons that turned it around? Why can't this team do the same? Why am I seemingly the only person who thinks this team won't finish last?"
Hearing Drew say it makes me feel a little vindicated. 😅
I was at the Minnesota game New Year’s Eve with my family, it was electric. I felt like we were in a playoff game and the fans are back for good. We can all sense something special in this team!
Yes, Brodie, the atmosphere translates on TV. I was there at the Vegas game seven game. I was there at a Stanley Cup final game and I’ve been there the last few years. It’s so great to hear the tank come alive again.
This team has more heart and has fun playing, or at least it comes across that way. In the end it is still a game and having fun while getting paid to play a game is infectious to us fans. That is special regardless of the ultimate prize. I’m enjoying watching the joy of playing & the heart this team exudes
Sharks are in a unique and enviable position where there are limited outside expectations. They get a free pass by fans like myself when they mess up… oh well they're young and just learning to win. So to a certain extent they can play loose and enjoy the ride. That said, that feeling won't last forever, so I really hope they are enjoying themselves.
They remind me of the MLB Toronto Blue Jays last year. Nobody expected them to win and they took that special feeling and team chemistry all the way to extra innings of Game 7 in the WS. This spring they are ranked 2nd in the MLB power rankings behind the Dodgers and they are loading up the roster to meet those expectations. Bottom line, Sharks fans and players should enjoy the ride this year, no matter where it takes them. Let's Go Sharks!!

Amazing win. Just got to limit the mistakes and this team will dominate every game like Colorado
First ever Sharks game in person, and they win on my birthday! 🎉
I love those breakdowns by Brodie and Drew. So much insight. Thanks Guys!

Macklin can dish the sweet sauce. I love his creativity!

Sharks!🦈🦈🧡🦈🦈
I was at this game today, the Tank was rocking!
Looking forward to this team being a dynasty in a few years
Man the way the Tank sounded is bringing me back to happy memories
apart from playing goalie what doesnt macklin do
It’s like the old Giants slogan: Torture!
Always nice to see the tank popping again.
Mack has this ability to continually raise his game when facing adversity. Dude takes things personally and makes them pay.

We are literally one point out of first place in the division. WTH??!!

because celebrini exists
Loved seeing players not named Celebrini putting in the work. This team is really coming together
