ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»letβs get a win
I haven't missed a single Flyers game in the last three seasons, but I refuse to watch another game when Sam Ersson is in goal. I'll feel like I'm wasting my time …..and I hate wasting my time…
I hope Barkey chatted up Point last game or this game and exchange numbers to learn from him since both are shorter players. Also, I hope the same for Michkov and Nikita K
Goal Tending Goal Tending Goal Tending Goal Tending.
50 years been watching this team, seen many goal tenders come through this city and guys, Ersson is not good, he's too inconsistent and he's been letting in soft goals.
Those first 2 goals he let in were s o f t and you know as well as I do that when a goal tender lets in a soft goal…and then another soft goal it kills the rest of the team.
Ersson must go or at least bring up Kolosov for a stint.
I WANT TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR
I'm so sick of lousy goal tending letting this team down.
NO, it wasn't entirely Ersson's fault, but he once in a while HAS TO make hard saves.
It comes with the job.
And the Flyers must bring up Kolosov at least for a few weeks, let Ersson clear his head and let's see what happens.
I …want..to…make..the…playoffs.
As do all Flyers fans do.
With everything going on in Ottawa surrounding Ullmark, would you make some moves to acquire him, as he might be looking to get out after everything thatβs going on.
Who would get moved in that deal?
Thanks Jason!
Dearth means "Lacking"
Kucherov only scores goals, doesn't play a 200ft game.
Cant win with guys like that πππ.
Time to fake an injury for Ersson, put him on IR and then send him down for a conditioning stint.
You can't have a goalie on your roster that routinely gives up 4 goals a game.
we dont have enough fire power right now with all the injuries
Hope all is well gentlemen, it's incredibly paradoxical listening to you guys talk about Sam. He's not a rookie, you know that, right? Hearing both you and Bill talk like Sam still has this development curve to establish, I'm not going to lie, is absolutely ridiculous, respectfully. Sam has consistently shown exactly what he is, a goalie who can give you a game here and there, but the overall sample size is absolute dogshit. The numbers don't lie, and to Bill's point about the environment he plays in, why do you think that is? The factual answer is the team acutely, from a psychological perspective, actively knows they cannot trust Sam, it's clear as day. You've seen the story a million times on different teams, where the team literally psyches themselves out and plays terrible, chaotic, because they know they literally have no room for error. The game on the weekend was the exact embodiment of that, Sam literally could not save a thing. At this point it's almost mildly infuriating that you keep establishing some kind of "context" or alibi for his disgustingly poor play. I get there are limited moves, but you have to do something at this point, you cannot riide this out. "Riding" this out isn't suddenly going to transform Sam, he is who he is and he is not going to magically become a better goalie, I'm willing to bet my life on it. It's been YEARS of this Jason. Not weeks, not months, years bro. I don't get your soft-spot for Ersson, like at all. Koly is UNDOUBTEDLY AND UNQUESTIONABLY THE GOALIE YOU HAVE TO PLAY AS YOUR BACKUP MOVING FORWARD. At worst, you can have to roll with that and see. Otherwise, I'm calling it now, these points were losing with Sam are going to cost us the playoffs, 100%.
This is where the season goes off the rails.
There is no defense of Ersson.
Ersson is cooked! The team plays worse whe he is in net because the team knows they wont get the saves when they need it. This is year 2.5 with Ersson and this is his average play end of story. The team plays good with Vldar in net because they know they will get the saves when they need them and they can play a little bit more free.
The Blues would most likely ask for Bonk, Michkov or Martone in any package for Thomas, and if so I would not do it.
The difference between Ersson and Vladar is that one goalie is thriving in this Flyers environment and the other is waning. Sam previously thrived in a backup role but that was before he was the starter. Now that he has been unseated as the starter his confidence is gone. Vladar came in with supreme confidence and it has not waned. Sam needs to regain his confidence.
Ersson has shown over and over again that heβs not reliable, not that the other night was all on him but when you are always giving up at least one soft goal almost every game eventually it snow balls. Heβs a free agent at the end of the season and you know what he is, move on bring Kolosov up and lean on Vladar
AI most likely did the schedule where the Flyers play Tampa back to back at home!
All this complaining about Ersson but it doesn't help if the rest of the team don't score and this year don't block shots like they did when Torts was the coach.
Thank you Jason for being one of the few analysts providing context for evaluating the goaltending performance. I was 10 rows from the ice and there wasn't a single goaltender alive that could have won that game under those conditions. There is a reason hockey is the number one team sport. Those Bronx cheers should stay in the Bronx. LETS GO FLYERS!
