  1. It'll depend on the young guys coming in and making impacts. Peterka probably dips in production (his shooting % was way too high) but he's a great addition to the core.

Edit: Jesse forgot about But when discussing centres…

  2. As a Mammoth fan, so obviously super biased, I gotta say I'm taking the over. Major factors here:

–Their blue line was absolutely decimated by injuries last year. We had to play at least 3 non NHL defensemen for over half the season. Obviously anything can happen, but if we are even just slightly more healthy I think winning 2 more games is very doable.
–Another factor not discussed is how many games we didn't have an NHL backup goalie. The reason Veggie played 53 games, was because Ingram was in and out due to mental health and being in the PA program. Having stability in net makes winning 2 more games super doable.
–Another factor that I think matters even if it isn't super measurable, the boys will be settled this year. They started camp without being settled in Utah for even a few months. I think this season everyone has their lives figured out and can fully commit to playing hockey. Again, not super measurable, but I think this makes an effect.

I agree, the central division is the toughest in the league. So I don't feel like you guys are disrespecting the Mammoth with your predictions. But I think we are going to make waves this season and in the playoffs!

  3. Utah almost made the playoffs with basically no right-side dmen. What can they do this year with an improved team PLUS the top two right-side dmen? Smells like playoffs to me

  4. Don't have a high ceiling? They've got one of the youngest cores in the league and we've seen flashes of that potential

Being settled in Utah is going to be a huge factor. I'm smashing that over

  5. From my math you all agreed on 4th-8th, and it seems to me like you'll all have the jets 3rd, unless someone's got them 2nd. I say 1st-8th:
    DAL
    WPG
    COL
    ST.L
    MIN
    UTA
    NSH
    CHI

But honestly 1-5 is a lot closer than you think. Another reason the jets winning the prez trophy last year was incredible.

  6. The Canucks owner made his money developing real estate but for some reason can't develop real estate into a practice facility. I could see if the billionaire owner of the Canucks made his money selling French fries, but there's no excuse for being the last team to not have a practice facility, other than being cheap. The new PWHL team in Vancouver already have their practice facility lined up…

  7. Durzi was trade to the coyotes awhile ago bud, not last year.

I guess if you talk loud and sound confident enough you don’t need to say actual facts or any truths

  8. im a flames fan from cgy who moved to utah and then we got a team. really loving the players they have on the team and in the system. i think this state would blow up for a contender

  9. There were at least four games last year that the Utah HC could have won, sorry Connor, that Ingram lost in the third period. The addition of Peterka, gives the offense at least three and possibly four 90 points scorers. I think that both the Wild and Blues finish below the Mammoth.

  10. Small correction on this. 3:01 Durzi was already on the team from Arizona, Marino was the one traded (via NJ). Also, shout-out Delta Center. Stoked to see the renovations in person this week!

  11. Agree on the depth down the middle debate, but don’t forget they have Tij Iginla and Desnoyers coming up. Desnoyers won’t be in the lineup for a few more years but there is a lot of talk of Iginla making the opening night roster probably in a middle 6 capacity.

  12. You guys are way off on the Mammoth, they got some studs. Dylan is gonna be a 40 goal scorer book it
