Should the Canadiens be buyers at the trade deadline?

Should the Canadiens be buyers at the trade deadline? How should Martin St. Louis be handling Montreal’s goaltending situation? TSN Hockey analyst Bruce Boudreau joins Domino’s That’s Hockey host Gino Reda to discuss following Kent Hughes’ mid-season media address.

  1. need to add size to go with suzuki and caulfied although texier is looking good —- so perhaps leave that for remainder of year. want some beef on L3/L4 to be able to stand up against the NEW BRUINS (aka Tampa)

  2. Habs have the luxury of having too many pieces to work with, assuming everyone is healthy. If they can find the right deal, they can ship a bunch of lesser players/picks for a significant upgrade in the top 6 or top 9

  3. Habs don't need a 2C they have a second line that is playing better than line one. We need another winger that works as good with Suzuki and Caufield as Slaf did. Hopefully Dach who should almost be ready to play can stay healthy and build chemistry with them. We do need to trade Laine before the deadline. Unless the deal and the player is too good to pass up. I wouldn't trade for a temporary fix. Maybe add a good vet for the playoffs in the bottom 6. But we just did that with Danault.

  4. Bruce talking about Montreal needing a 2C like he hasn't watched the team since November. The second line is humming, the question now is top line winger: Do we have someone in house; when will he be healthy to play; and if not: where will we find him?

  5. I think they need a left shot winger to play with Suzuki and Caufield….and big skilled one…tough to get I know….unless Laine or Dach could play there…I wouldn’t touch that second line…
