I still feel the Oil should have kept SOR…looks like a gem during the world juniors
Give us your predictions for 2026!
Blowman
Maybe we will finish off at the last wildcard spot
With the current roster, the way they've been playing and the way the coaching staff is treating younger prospects, I don't see that team going far in the playoffs.
Then again, the 2 superstars may decide to drag this team all the way to the end once again. I'm also sure some big moves are coming to fix the bottom 6. Remains to see if any new acquisition will work, or if they will get a solid number 2 goalie.
At this point though, I don't see it. Something needs to be done.
The Ontario teams trading star players (yes) They are American and not heart and soul for Canada in any form they will take pay off to lose to American franchises in Stanley cup finals . If you want passion and grit sign Canadian. Sweden .
German .Finland ..Czech. Slovak players you will get effort everytime
The Oilers need a 3rd line centre and then need to give Savoie and Howard the ability and ice time to play the wings on that 3rd line, but there is also a need to add another defenseman too, there are many issues still with the roster, especially the bottom 6
Kings have 2 games in hand and are 5 back of first place Oilers.
The confidence that Edmonton is even going to qualify for the playoffs in its self is premature.
50/50 they dont.
The Oilers are not good enough to win the Cup this year, hate to say it. They have shown us over and over that they seriously lack depth scoring, often show little to no intensity, defense is pretty weak at times, and goaltending is still a toss up. I don't think making trades to try and force it is a good idea if it prevents us from making better trade in the off-season. I know we only have McDavid for two more seasons and the countdown is on, but gambling the next two seasons to try and force a Cup run this season, despite 42 games of evidence that we have noticeable issues, seems like a bad idea. I think waiting to better trade options is better than overpaying mid season.
