Canada dominated Slovakia in the World Juniors quarterfinals, winning 7–1 to advance to the semifinals. After a slow start, Canada exploded with five goals in the opening period, putting the game out of reach early. Seven different Canadian players found the scoresheet, and Canada piled up 42 shots on goal while limiting Slovakia offensively. With the win, Canada moves on to face Czechia in the semifinal.

Pretty bad beating – don't know what happened but the wheels fell off for Slovakia who I thought was a pretty strong team, no offense to Canada they're obviously a real contender but Slovakia had a pretty strong game against the USA.
Hope you all have a good night – take care!

So glad you're covering some of the world junior games too!
Sweden VS Canada would be fun. They are the 2 best teams, but Cz and Finland souldnt be understimated
we need to stop doing tournaments in america tho cause the stands are empty and its quite embarassing cause the usa game today only filled up 65% of the stands so we should do canada and europe they sell more and the fans make it 10x better cause this year its less exciting. but all that to say canada looks good and hage to
Merci
Canada beats Sweden 4-1 in the finals. Michael Hage scores a hatty and assists on the 4th, is named tournament MVP and wins rookie of the year 2026-27 after the Habs win their 2nd Stanley Cup in a row
Please use for Dobeš sake term Czech Republic. Not Czechia :)) We in Czech hate this Czechia thing 😢

Thanks for covering the World Juniors !
For real bro, you deserve the hype!
Thanks for putting this out Whiskey! And for analyzing it like SOLID. Missed the game at work, but I'm good watching your take on the highlights. Cheers!!!
Naah…Slovakia surprisingly weak.
Not worthy of a WC quarter final.
Would have 100% prefered a good, tight Can-Rus game instead of unwatchable drag. 🙁
Especially anti-climactic after the excellent Fin-USA battle.
So impressed by our boys…hope they can beat the Swedes, so we can get our much coveted revenge on the Canadians…
I don't like blow out games in tournaments. Too easy for a team to think they are better than they actually are.
Still loving the blades of steel you incorporated. Brings a lot of memories back
Slovakia hasn't embarked good players for this game 😁
So young … too young ;
To die ? No futur for dreamers !
Poor Slovakia! It was totally a one-sided game, as if both teams were not of the same level.
I keep an eye on our guy Michael Hage and what strikes me the most is his high hockey IQ. He seems to read every play perfectly and he always makes the right choice. It is very promising for the future, if he can bring his game to the next level in the NHL.
Canada could have won this game 25-1 but I will bet they were told don't take anymore away from them ..pure class from the players 👏WTG Team Canada
Ah exactly what I wanted for breakfast this morning
In the end the 4 best teams of this very tournament got into the final 4. Sorry USA fans but that's the reality of that tourno, Finland has a very cohesive group and the perfect style to pose massive problems to a US team that was an impressive collection of super high-skilled talents, just like Canada, but too often lacked a bit in fully collective efforts. I don't see Finland necessarily repeat such a feat against the Swedes who are impressivley strong this year and might counter them in a more efficient way but once again that cohesiveness might lead to a very tight game. I see the final as Canada – Sweden, but those semi-final games first should both be very interesting. Don't sleep on Czechia too quickly, Canada, they are really truly good in this edition.
Merci pour ton résumé! 👍
Keep doing what you're doing mon ami!!!
We didn't play anything. I think the psyche broke after the 1st period. Nothin worked, defense non-existent, even the skating was terrible. We have the youngest team on the tournament, so hope they'll learn. Canada 🍁 was on another level, that is the truth. Just for info: Canada has about 610.000 registered players. Slovakia 12.000… And once as Czechoslovakia we were in the TOP 1-3 NATIONS in hockey ever. The system here must change… Great channel man, thanx for all. Love all the Habs stuff you're posting.
I was definitely expecting a closer game. Glad Canada won, but feeling bad for Slovakia. A bad game in a tournament is a backbreaker. Happy about the Finland /USA outcome, too.
With the invasion of Venezuela we should call our team back in protest.
The fifth and sixth goals looked very similar to the Suzuki goal on ot against the penters and the Blais goal
I'm guessing on Canada vs Sweden for the gold medal, based on tournament performance so far, but Canada and Sweden will need to be performing at their best since Czechia and Finland have shown they are tough competitors.
Baby Jerome scores and dad was pretty happy! I felt bad for Slovakia, but really happy Canada is in and USA is out. Now we face Czechia, not going to be an easy game. Early HABS game today and tomorrow.
the future is bright with our young atheletes! cant wait to see what these guys go on to do when they join the NHL, go canada go🍁
Honestly, if you compare the average age of the teams it explains a lot. Slovakia had the youngest team and they have learned the lesson. All of them will be there next year so fingers crossed for them.
The Billy G curse for team USA began last night.
Sweden Canada gold, Finland chequia in the bronze
