Mic sounded fine before this one. Not sure why you thought you needed something else. this one sounds fine too. I guess Hayes was scratched? I would definitely be scratching Ville K before Hayes. Maybe Letang and Kulak need to sit for Graves and Cliffton.
Credit to Shilovs his save percentage was a 91 before that dreadful last second goal. That really screwed his stat line over. I'm not too concerned about those clanks of the bar to be honest. I think Arts position only allows for those kinds of opportunities and as we know from another Pittsburgh legend, the bar is a friend worth thanking. EDIT: Ahhhh i interrupted your thought process to say what you were about to say hahaha I agree with you dan. The bar is the only thing left if the goaltender is in good position. However i do believe if it was a shot on net, it would hit the net. Those shots don't have a chance thats taken away by Art. Might be time for a different stat to be added to get the full picture of what the goaltender brings to the ice. Last thing i swear. How about we have Shea and St Ivany leapfrog the second pair? I don't like the idea of Letang potentially getting more minutes getting bumped to top pair. We may have to drop Wothers to second and bring in Graves and Clifton as the 3rd pairing. I'd prefer dropping the 2nd pairing to 3rd in minutes overall but there's just no way anyone in the locker room would be happy with that.
The Pens got lucky that Letang and Karlsson's mistakes weren't scored on, the Hawks kept hitting the post, Bedard and Nazar are injured, and the Hawks goalie had a bad day.
I won't guess where the "excised" demons have gone until the Pens have played a couple more games. That Pens first powerplay lacked energy and was embarrassing.
Lizotte was a welcome return as will Malkin be.
Agree that the Pens need to clean up their game or hope for similar puck luck going forward.
that last goal by chicago should NEVER happen , after the last debacle of a late goal ,mike rupp on a broadcast and said all the pen had to do was take a penalty that would stop play they drop the puck with 1 second and the game is over ! why dont the pens understand that simple fact ???

Graves and Clifton are weak players. Have never played well with any consistency no matter how you slice it. Kulak so far has been no better than graves and Clifton which is concerning. The entire game was sloppy all three periods. Blake is excellent and offers so much. When he is on ice you notice him virtually every shift. Finally Novak and Hayes are weak players as well. Honestly the only way those 4 should play is subs for injuries need to find some players to replace them sooner rather than later
Man…as of late there are THREE defensemen really making it easy for the other team. Allowing sustained offense and even feeding into their offense at times. One is understandable, two is unlikely, but three is unheard of. Muse seems unwilling to correct this. At least EK65 generates enough offense to help compensate for some of his mistakes. Letang (at this point in his career) and Kulak basically have the sole responsibility of playing sound defense and yet they look like the game is too fast.
When we were kids and id come down and rip one off the crossbar against my goalie buddy, hed hilariously exclaim "i had everything covered BUT the posts"….but yeah its not a shot on goal because even without the goalie there, its not going in.
Maybe shaman can be allowed to have the pregame rituals. Pens still have a couple demons. The giants looked so good. Mic sounds much better its good the budget worked out. Safe trip home ☃ ❄ 🎄
Its the same guys over and again. Letang and karlsson on rinse and repeat. If they had different names on the back of their jerseys, would they be eating nachos in the press box for a few games? EK65 did not play 16 minutes (15:49) against the blackhawks. The closest d man was shea at 19:37. Was that by design? I hope. I hope they flip Kulak soon.
Pens broadcast didn't pick up on Karlsson missing the 3rd either IIRC. I didn't really notice it until like 5 minutes left in the game, hope it's nothing serious. With Letang's struggles this year the Pens really don't have anyone who can fill Karlsson's role.
Not a cheap $20 lavalier mic, but it'll do! Now you can snap that onto a stick and shove it in players faces for some decent lockeroom audio, so you can grill the -4 guys like a disappointed dad would!
When Muse doesn't hold them accountable we can always rely on Kingerski to get to the bottom of it!

The huge investment in EK is paying off for other teams more often than ours.
