Very good first period. Horrific second period where they looked like they were in a prevent defense which just prevented them from playing any offense. They tried to regroup in the third but couldn't find their legs or their game. Pretty poor OT with yet another impotent power play and then the skills challenge won by Bo. Isles had no business winning that game. Chicago missed three or four open nets and should have won by three or four goals.
Really playing poorly lately losing to last place Vancouver and last place Columbus and almost losing to last place Chicago (who moved out of last place with the point). Team needs a shake up. As is, this team is going nowhere. DeAngelo has got to go. I don't care if you just throw out a pylon on the ice, it would be a vast improvement over him in the defensive zone. Drouin and Duclair are useless but have minimal trade value. We should trade JGP before he gets hurt again.
Duclair and pags along with lee and cizikas must be traded for a couple of 22 and 23yr old talented scorers.oir goaltending is solid now and we are much improved and still playing very well. Yes the power play stinks but we will be fine.must trade these older vets at the trade deadline
If Horvat is on the bubble for Canada olympics, especially if questioning his injury recovery, I don’t see how they don’t take him now. 14 is just clutch. Would be exciting – but I don’t mind if he rests a few weeks
Isles have a big problem on the W right now. Duclair is doing absolutely nothing. Drouin is playing good D, but not doing anything. The team really misses Palmeri going to the net. Transition offense only works if you score on your wingers convert on their shots…
Thank god Bo and barzal are consistent or we would have a ton of goose eggs this year! Drouin and duclair are on pace for a 2 goals a season between the 2 of them!!!!! They neeeeed to go!!!! Every SO needs to be Holmstrom heineman and Bo and than barzy as an extra
I feel like the islanders have more offense when Horvat and Barzal are on separate lines. They really don’t produce that much together outside of the PP. My lines would be Drouin-Barzal-Pageau Lee-Horvat-Heineman Duclair-Ritchie-Holmstrom Shabanov-Cizikas-Gatcomb
