  1. I would be Lyon if I said I did not think Mattias Samuelsson worked very hard this off season on his strength, conditioning and shot and is an All Star this year … maybe we will see Sammy in the Oly M Pics!

  2. The best part of the savers is, they’re not writing someone on a heater
Goaltending has been solid, but not spectacular
But they seem motivated prepared and ready to go unfortunately, this has been a problem for this team prior
Lastly, they figured out being around each opposing goalie allows. You deflections fortunate goals, streaming his eyes they would get beat by opposing teams doing this to them, and not figure out how to flip the script.

  3. When I watch Quinn, he’s letting the game come to him. He doesn’t seem like he’s pressing because when he’s pressing, he’s miserable.

  4. Not sure this is staying. Biggest question, is all they did is fire Adam’s, why couldn’t they win with him in the building? If they are that petty(the players) then what playoff run are we hearing for?

  5. No one is saying "hitting doesn't matter" we are saying "hitting doesn't make you a great team" there are teams that hit a lot and are at the bottom of the standings and there are teams that don't and are at the top. Don't hit to hit, and get yourself out of position, hit when it helps is the point. If you are hitting a lot that means you don't have the puck, possession is more important than Hits on the stat sheet is the point

  6. Hitting does matter at specific times of the game I agree. These finesse only players don’t do well . Let’s go Buffalo Sabres!!!

  7. 2:11 of course there are, you could do an analytical deep dive into every team and find inconsistencies, especially considering every team in the Eastern Conf is above .500, which is utterly preposterous so it makes sense.

  8. Having Ostlund develop like he has at this point in the season real has helped this team out. It allows the team to have a lot better depth in the top 9. Minus Norris which I still cannot count on him to stay healthy they only have 2 Top line players in Tuch and Tage. However having the depth like Ostlund, Doan, Benson, Quinn, and Zucker has really helped out this team. Once Kulich is healthy that will add even more depth to the top 9. If Norris stays healthy next year with very few games missed things could be different long term for this team.
I also want to say Rosen also can right now play in this team's top 9. As much as we pushed Rosen out saying we never expected much from him going forward. He has clicked this year in the 13 games. He also earned a spot. Not over Ostlund however he has earned it too.
I think its time to take Quinn and trade him to open up room. You have Kulich coming back in a month or so. You have Rosen who can play right now. You also do not want to take out Ostlund. So a Forward needs to go in the top 9. That is Quinn at this point and you can likely get something good for him.
I would go for a Right Handed D because Sabres are thin there. Unless you could get a Jason Robertson someone who is consistently a 30+ Goal guy per year. If you can make a package that gets you a player like Robertson then I would aim for a forward.
However I would focus on a Right Handed D. Can you take Quinn and maybe something else to get a D kind of like Kesselring. Maybe a 3rd pair D that has a top 4 upside. Maybe a younger player that is about to enter into his prime that can handle top 4 minutes. Does not need to be a goal scorer as a D. This would add to the Defensive depth this team has and fix the Right side depth with we do not have currently. Once Mrtka develops into being an NHL D then you will have a overloaded Right side like you have with the left side right now. But trading Quinn right now for that D would make this a deeper team that could get into the Playoffs.

  9. Thank you for the Tim Connolly comparison with Norris. It has been bugging me for a while who to compare him to from Sabres teams of past…and that was spot on. Norris is just so fluid with the puck I really enjoy watching him.

  10. Other than signing Tuch, the only thing I need to see Jarmo do for this team is to trade UPL (or Ellis) and Greenway.

We need to reduce our goalie core down to 2, and if we package Greenway with whoever’s leaving, we may be able to get a Prospect that’s only a year away from playing in the NHL.

But if for some reason they don’t trade Greenway, they need to teach his big behind to stand in front of the net like Andreychuk and either tip pucks in or shovel in the Garbage.

Either way, Jarmo needs to do something soon to make his mark!

  11. They won 7 out of nine games last year right before dropping 13 in a row. I need to see more before i buy in.

  12. you do realize that even the ny jets won 2 straight games earlier this season…?….let this play out and they'll (sabres) end up last not only in the conference but also the league once teams start knocking them around physically

  13. say what you want but former GMKA left us in a pretty good spot, trades, picks, signings he deserves some credit and love

  14. Everyone saying they give Adam’s credit is an idiot. They were playing for a joke a gm and thought he was a joke. As soon as they found out he was gone they start playing good it’s not a coincidence
