I really hope that we see a Columbus team that’s trending towards being a contender soon.

  1. Fantilli is taking his time, the two players drafted before him are already over point per game producers.

  2. Long time viewer and lifelong Blue Jacket fan here. I always appreciate you covering the team more than others will, but I have to push back against your constant line claiming that blue jackets content always rates dead last in the league. If you look back at your season previews and other 32 team series, the blue jackets are definitely not last.
The CBJ pre-season preview this year has more views than Nashville and Tampa, and the same views as Vegas.
I’d say the viewership is decent for a team born in 2000 with only one playoff round win.

  3. Fantilli did actually score 31 goals last year. But only 54 points in 82 games. He is close to breaking through, he just needs to round out his offensive game a bit further and I can see him in the 70-80 point range

  4. Chinakov is overhyped anyway. Look at his stats not good and look at his games played also NOT good. high risk high reward. Kent Johnson is the next one to be traded bet on that

  5. Heinen as well I believe. Either way I'm thrilled we got as much as we did. With the way he wasn't being utilized I was expected one late draft pick lol. I wish Chinakov the best, but in my opinion I don't think he's the next William Karlsson.

On another note, Rick Nash was my favorite player and will maybe always be. We loved him and still do. While Johnny got made fun of for his goal total with us, most of us here didn't see it that way at all because he came here on his own choosing and said nothing but good things about being here.

Patience with Fantilli. Johnson is my only concern … I still like him, but he's really slumping this year.

  6. Huge mistake by columbus. They have so much cap space, just pay the kid whatever would make him happy. He’s gonna thrive in Pittsburgh

  7. Shannon I know how you feel. When we had Nash playing here he had nothing but 3rd and 4th line players to play with. Now we have a coach who is more comfortable playing with grinders. And cannot coach skilled players. Look at china, k johnson and fantelli regressions this year.

  8. Our Defense is a… misadventure. I really think it’s going to hold us back for years. Provorov, Fabbro and Severson combined make over 20 million dollars. How do you expect to pay guys like Marchenko, Fantilli and Greaves?

  9. We are going to miss the playoffs again and Z will demand a trade. It's sad being a Columbus fan. I also root for the Browns on Sundays. But at least my alma mater Buckeyes are good at football…

  10. Their top draft picks have been pretty miserable for picking that high that many times. I don’t know if that’s scouting, development, or both, but way too many misses for that many high picks.
