St. Ivany needless endangerment of an official – Tough Call Recommendation

Jack St. Ivany got involved in an altercation with Brendan Gallagher. Two linespersons ended up between them, restraining both players, but St. Ivany forced the issue resulting in linesperson Ryan Jackson being injured.

  1. I broadly agree your take here, at the same time, a lot (all?) of this could get addressed if referee's also made initial calls more frequently. If Gallagher was called for roughing / cross checking at the outset (honestly he's going in pretty hard on Koivunen(?) who's laying face down on the ice and its St Ivany who witnesses it and goes after him) then I think don't think we see this escalating as the Penguins would have been on the powerplay. Poor / Inconsistent ref'ing definitely plays into these after the whistle scrums which leaves the linesmen to deal with. I think on this particular play, the ref only called one set of offsetting roughing penalties
