Sharks IR Move: Vincent Desharnais Out, Pavol Regenda In

The San Jose Sharks have made a roster move, placing defenseman Vincent Desharnais on injured reserve and recalling winger Pavol Regenda from the AHL. Desharnais, a key defensive presence, has been ruled out for tonight’s game due to an upper-body injury. His absence could be felt as the Sharks have struggled recently with a 4-5-0 record in their last nine games.
Regenda, acquired from the Ducks last season, will ensure the Sharks have a full forward line-up for tonight’s game against Utah. With Adam Gaudette questionable due to illness, Regenda could make his Sharks debut. He brings size and physicality, having put up solid numbers in the AHL with 32 points in 55 appearances.
Desharnais’ injury opens up an opportunity for Regenda to make an impact at the NHL level. The 29-year-old defenseman has been a reliable shutdown defender, ranking highly in key defensive metrics. His absence will be felt, especially with the Sharks’ top penalty kill unit. Stay tuned to see how the Sharks adapt to these roster changes.
