Penguins Ppetgame: Circle this Loss—Here’s why

  1. if the pk wasnt a 25% and powerplay under 20% tonight this game was a w, its just like when guentzel was traded crosby cried for a month after, imagine what happens if geno or letang get traded or even rust

  2. In 2029 during the 2nd round draft we'll look back at this game and say "ahaha, how foolish we were to be upset at that trade!!!"…. in all seriousness, 3 penalties in a row in the first and the two goals in less than 20 seconds that followed probably made everyone on the team say "well, better luck next year"… 3/4 PPG against while going 1/6 on the PP might've fanned the flames a bit.

  3. Common Mann Edmonton is a better team and we were missing geno give it a rest about maybe tanking the season 😅 u call yourself an analyst that's horrible considering we've got points in the last 5 which is what it's all about getting points maybe needed more energy and better goal tending…letz get back on track ezz up bro these are players that are at the top of NHL legends and a legend in the stands came to watch !!!

  4. Oiler fan here – love Stu Skinner, but Pen fans, one thing you'll see about him – he's a good, solid 'backup'. Maybe down the road he can improve and hopefully he'll get a chance to actually be a backup where the weight of the world isn't on his shoulders, he can work on his game (especially his skating and his lateral movement) while playing on average every 4th to 5th game. As an FYI – that's what he was supposed to be here until, about now. We signed Jack Campbell to a 5 year – 5m/year contract 4 years ago – and Campbell didn't last a month as a starter before Stu was forced into that role. And thanks to that horrible signing – Skinner was basically saddled as the #1 guy when he wasn't ready. I hope he is just your backup for now. I have a feeling he won't be re-signed there though – I think the Pens will let him walk and I really hope another team picks him up as a BACKUP where he should be.

  5. Rust is a terrible defensive forward, Crosby hasn't wanted to play defense in a month…that's a big problem when your top line can't defend…take away PP points and empty net points and those guys have large (-) numbers…that's a problem…6 PP and nobody on PP1 wants to shoot…crazy…Hayes over Broz is ridiculous at this point…
Circle this homestand…3 points out of 10…this is where the season went south…need Geno and Lizotte back in the biggest way…Kindle was terrible tonight, Dan…at least 7 mistakes

  6. Dan, all I can do is SMH. . . This is bad. . . Don't know where they go from here. 🤔🤔 But, as usual, love your insight and analysis — and the jacket!! Looking quite dapper there, buddy!! 😉😉 Be safe traveling, and see ya soon!!

  7. Sorry for the question Dan as this was likely covered a while ago… I lost track of the attempt to sell the team… what happened with that?

  8. Yeah we saw that 87 isnt a happy camper. His play showed it, before this game ever came to result. If hes gonna pout and give up every time theres a trade, hes hurting the team. One thing this team does NOT have the luxury of is losing the special teams battle so decisively. Malkin and Lizotte will help that tremendously, but youre going to lose EVERY SINGLE time you give up 3 powerplay goals and go 1 for 6 on the PP..

  9. Geno is out of the lineup.
    GENO!!!!
1 more year! 1 More Year!! 1 MORE YEAR!!!
Pens will be DONE if they don't resign Geno.

  10. Points-wise, the hapless Penguins are only 5 points away from being the worst team in the entire Eastern Conference. In fact, they are very close to being the worst team in the entire NHL.

  11. They literally stood around and watched the Oilers skate rings around them. DK, you’re a stats guy- how many gaffs does Karlsson rack up a game compared to actual hockey plays?

  12. The final nail in the coffin to this season was the Sharks game. This game it was already way over. Total give up.

  13. These past 3 losses are very demoralizing. Sunday and Tuesday the team didn’t seem like they were interested in playing. I’ve never seen a team this bad in OT. If the pens would have won 2/3rds of the OT games they’re in first place. Instead it’s mentally drained this team. The Jarry trade didn’t surprise me- however, Jarry was having a solid season and now especially with last nights debacle it seems like we have little goaltending. Even the Russian got shelled on Sunday.

  14. The Penguins were lucky,Skinner had let in the first shot on goal too many times as an Oiler…welcome to skinners world…

  15. Love the fit Dan. I'd say any suit/formal menswear absolutely matches your professional demeanor and position as a sports reporter.

  16. People getting on Sid are seriously way out of line…he declined the media for good reason for one. People keep asking the same questions, and expecting some magical answer. He’s realizing the fragility of this team, and is struggling to find a way to win with what he’s got. He’s older now, the roster isn’t what it was during his prime, and it’s a lot of pressure. He’s allowed to have some stinkers just like any other player…he’s a human being just like the rest of us. Also keep in mind he’s ONE person! There’s A LOT wrong with this team, but Sid isn’t one of them.

  17. Nosferatu is clueless on how to stop the slide. He's this decade's Mike Johnston. Add the failed ex-maple leaf GM, and now you getting the mushy middle with a mid range 1st rd pick 😂 keep crying about Jarry in 2021 pens nation

  18. Eh, that was like a horserace with a frontrunner that gets a big early lead and coasts. The penalty disparity this year is disgusting. You wanna gift the Oilers 4 penalties right out of the gate? Of course the team, especially Skinner, is going to lose whatever gameplan they were going to try. Dive more in the regular season. Refs are beyond useless.
