The Vancouver Canucks Have A QUINN HUGHES Problem..

The Vancouver Canucks have a Quinn Hughes problem.. For months speculation has been growing in regards to a potential Quinn Hughes trade to New Jersey, a deal that would reunite the three Hughes brothers. But with Quinn having another year on his contract and how important he is in Vancouver, the Canucks are not quite ready to let go of their captain and franchise defenseman. That is until recent reports show us that maybe the Canucks have hit rock bottom, and maybe that speculated Hughes brother reunion is more realistic now than it ever has been..Subscribe to Jimmy Hockey for more NHL News and Breakdowns.

  1. What would happen if we start selling all our assets for first round picks and good prospects, tank this season and go into the draft

  2. Vancouver fans should have seen this as soon as Luke signed his extension. The Bros have decided NJ is going to be their team. Good for them.

  3. Paying demko and treating him like Bobrovsky
When he's a. 500 goaltender at best when he sits out most half seasons while Quinn playes the most minutes per game in the NHL. He's the best defenseman in the NHL one of the top players. I'll probably take a break from the canucks like I did in the messier keener days.
I can't watch a team dump players over greed.

  4. Some people think that if the Canucks throw enough money at Quinn he'll stay, it's not about money. There isn't enough money in the world that the Vancouver Canucks can throw at Quinn Hughes that would put his name on the cup and him holding it up.
Winners want to win, little kids playing right now who are going to play in the NHL aren't thinking about a big payday. They want to be on a winning team and they want to hold up the Stanley cup and there name on it. That's just a fact.
Players who stay on a losing team and are content there collecting a cheque are the real losers. Not going to name names but you know. They are the ones who should be traded. Too bad there is no machine too measure how much heart a player has.

  5. I find it interesting how many players have no desire to play north of the border. Matthews to Pittsburgh in the near future. McDavid to TB.

  6. It's so hard to ne a canuck fan right now. Your talking injury prone, take a deep dive into goaltending. It's bad. Makes you wonder what is demko holding over canucks ownership. Makes no sense. Canucks can turn things around by just dumping demko use his salary and the 2 mill extra on one forward. Fuck bring Crosby here to play with Hughes

  7. a team like the canes would gladly take quinn for 2 playoff runs. same for dallas and the capitals. imo the canucks won't move quinn unless there is a young top 6 centre in the deal plus plus plus.

  8. There's a lot of reasons he would bounce for a US Market. Less Taxes, better team, closer to family etc. The way the management has imploded the team from first overall at Christmas 2 years ago to last overall now with a myriad of terrible decisions in succession.. is a logical reason for anyone to want out. The issue I have is these modern athletes being soft and having no emotional control, sulking when things don't go their way. He's the captain, and a terrible choice at that. It's like they Gave him the C and picked his favorite D coach as the new coach in hopes that pandering to him will sway him to stay, instead of simply creating an environment of excellence around him that he can fit into in his lead by example, introvert style. He's not a vocal leader, and he looks 12 years old, and wears his feeling on his face, so he's in most ways a very poor choice to lead a team. No 5'10, 178lb nonphysical offensive defenseman has ever lead a team to a cup as the best player. If he's your best player, and his style doesn't scale well in tight checking, physical playoff situations.. you ain't winning anything. Trade him this year, the sooner the better. The more time left on his deal, the more you can get a kings random for him and begin to undo the damage that has been done by all those poor managerial decisions.

  9. The Canucks should rebuild. Nothing wrong with that. Every team goes through it eventually. It is odd the Hughes wants out though. Some captains stick by their team through thick and thin.

  10. I think Hughes will play with his brothers at the Olympics and after that back to the Canucks and stay with the Canucks! He's going to get a huge contract and if he wins a Stanley Cup with a team who had never won he'll always be known as a GOD in Vancouver. Jersey had done it already. Vancouver is a chance to make history! It would be 1st Stanley Cup for both! Why leave a city that loves you!?? Where you have a chance to make history?

  11. Just dont see a spot on NJ for Quinn. Not at the expense of Lukes ice time. Makes no sense except that its a pre planned bargaining tactic.

  12. Bye Hughes thanks for everything we will always love you, however we suck and it's clear you're unhappy. So we have trade you and let you be happy with another team

  13. This is on the Management.. but they have been framing it through the media as it not THEIR FAULT…..

  14. No it isnt. We have needed a rebuild for over a decade. Now Aquilini might be forced to see the error of his ways and allow an actual rebuild. Giving away value to remain mediocre ain't it. The one playoff run was just a smoke screen, this team was never good enough. Quinn is the only player we have left of immense value.

  15. the Canucks like any other team devastated by injury is going to lose. What team in NHL history has lost every one of their bonafide centermen at the same time.EP 40 ,Chytil,Blueger etc -out .Last game against Detroit they had an AHL center on the 1st and 2nd lines and a 4th line center at 3rd line and a winger as the 4th line center.Newsflash! you are going to lose 4 out of 5 games .Throw in that your #1 goalie is ALWAYS injured and guess what—you continue to lose. You have Quinn Hughes to build around and EP40 is fighting to maintain a level commensurate to his massive contract.BUT those AHL PLAYERS ARE ONLY GONNA IMPROVE.
