  1. To answer the measuring stick question…
    I think it's fair to use the game to measure the Leafs against themselves before their more recent success, rather than to measure them against the Panthers. If that makes sense.

    The signs are positive.
    Depth players being a factor is a good departure from what we've been seeing.

  2. Nobody gave the leafs any excuses when they had half their team missing. No Matthews, Knies, Tanev, at one point both goalies (never had both healthy this year) etc. I'd say our injuries were worse than theirs are now.
