The Chicago Blackhawks drop their fifth straight game, falling to the Nashville Predators despite goals from Ryan Donato, Ryan Green, and Teuvo Teravainen. Connor Bedard created opportunities throughout the night, but it wasn’t enough as Jeff Blashill’s squad continues searching for answers during this tough stretch.     Hawks will be fine. This is part of the 82 game schedule. Even teams who expect to be good have losing streaks. Hawks have no expectations unless it is the young players taking the next steps in development and they are doing well. Bedard has played well, Nazar has been having a slump but young players will have times where they can’t find a way to score. Goaltending is good if Knight is in net and we have a reliable coach who will get the players playing with structure. Hawks are not expected to be a wild card or a playoff team. We are still a rebuilding team and it shows on the ice with a bunch of young players who are getting though a 82 season grind. This season has been a success so far.

    We got prospects with top six potential but have no idea how they’re gonna look until they show up here and play. Might take a couple years. Look up Frank Nazar. It took parts of three seasons, but he’s finally close to finishing up 82 games in the NHL. (1 season) He’s got 18 goals 25 assists and 43 points. Not bad borderline top six. Ceiling is high. But it’s gonna take time.
    Top 6 FA are gonna be difficult to get. Trades will be expensive in assets and or players. The future is bright and we will get incrementally better but it’s gonna take time.

    Greene played on the third line in his sophomore year at Boston and if I remember right, Celebrini played on the PP with Greene in the bumper. Greene 3rd year in college he played on the first line for Boston with Eiserman on his wing. He has an idea what to do on offense top 6. He’ll be able to chip in more than Dickenson in the future. Greene should eventually replace Dickensons third line role. Defense and faceoffs are ok and will improve with time/coaching. He was supposed to be in Rockford so some development in needed still. Unlike Lardis, Greene is taller, heavier, older, stronger and more prepared for physical play on NHL. Lardis does have the better skillset as a top 6 option.

    We all knew this but Knights gotta play like 70 games for us to have a shot at the playoffs. Söderblom is liability. He just doesn't have the ability to bail the team out with saves when they need it. Knight 100% needs to be on the ice when playing teams we are supposed to beat. Scoring the equalizer then giving it up 60 seconds later pretty much let me know we were not going to win. Not hating on Knight because Im very happy he is our goalie but he has looked shakey late in games here recently as well. I remember being happy with both this season and 24hrs later it fell apart and we have been losing ever since. We have been succeeding because of great goaltending. The second that starts to slip you see very clearly where we need to improve. If you get beat on a good shot that's Hockey it happens to everyone, but when you are not stopping garbage goals that's a problem. Thats why I tell people I don't care about flash. Give me a guy that can do the easy stuff right everytime.
