  1. Sherwood for a second-round pick? I'd do it. Anything more than that… prob not. Dude's on a contract season, 30 years old… very high shooting %… it's all a trap.

  2. Why would Vancouver want to trade him for that? I would take this guy for depth with the upside of being a playoff grinder

I don't think he fits into our long term plans but I don't care. Maybe he gives guys a chance to develop in the AHL or something like that. We've gotta compare him to guys we've got. Like Davidson, Veleno, even Xhekaj (who I sort of want to stay with the team). Just based on stats he seems like a guy who would fit well with Anderson maybe

  3. None of us want to see washed up players coming to Montreal anymore. It won’t help our young and prime team. The Canadiens should try to work with what they’ve already got because the chemistry, love and magic is already terrific.

All teams have ups and downs.
If the Habs would try to get washed up players now, it’d most likely
ruin the flora and fauna of the current team’s chances of becoming
the “powerhouse” they’re supposed to become.

If anything that Montreal should trade for now is a proper goaltender before Edmonton gets one.

  4. i've been wanting Keiffer Sherwood since awhile…… we need that type of player…. i would try to build a trade for Sherwood and Myers…i could see tyler Myers playing on the right of Hutson……would give that extra year to Rainbacher……Maybe an Engstrom+ Newhook (if they are okay with him being out for a while+ 2nd….

  5. What is the rush, to many teams make trades when they are rebuilding, to rush the process, relax people, not the time to overpaid for old players, remember Ryan McDonagh for Scott Gomez (2009): or John LeClair, a future prolific goal-scorer, along with Eric Desjardins and Gilbert Dionne, to the Philadelphia Flyers, patience.

  6. Why would Habs want to give up a pick for Sherwood when they have reacquired Sammy Blais for nothing? Sherwood is playing for a contract however he is not a difference maker. Also, with Parsinnen on waivers why not go for him for now since he is a big left-handed centre who we deserately need until Hage is hopefully ready.

  7. I greatly question anything to do with Kiefer Sherwood as he's having a breakout season so far and he's UFA after the season. By the end of the season, he will be 31, which makes me even more skeptical. Note: that stat card shows 25 giveaways in 23 games? Also note, Sherwood before the last couple seasons was a career 4th liner. Its like asking to resigning Josh Anderson all over again and his production disappear.

  8. Nah, id pass.. We need a game breaker. Not another bottom 6 guy. We are at the point we can be patient to get a top 6 to play with Demidov.

  9. Let the young kids like Kapanen and Bolduc continue on their climb in the NHL instead of going out and bringing in washed out players from other teams to relieve them from these broken players! Now we got Samuel Blais back, that’s a kid that will break the boards to stay in the NHL with his lifelong favorite team!

  10. I still remember how desperately we wanted to add physicality to our lineup after last year's playoffs. For a 2nd rounder, Sherwood immediately makes our team better in the playoffs and doesn't steal a long term spot for prospects like Zharovsky because of his age.
