team can be proud of the effort tonight, coach and a couple players wearing 52 and 37 should not be proud of their nights.
Hamonic should not play again and should not have played again after game 1. the team has now sacrificed like 3 or 4 wins they would have had if he hadn't played. and he definitely should never play again w Kane's line. team is now losing 0-6 this year (in only 14 games) when Hamonic and Kane are on the ice together 5v5. they get destroyed. the 2nd goal against should have been enough lesson tonight. should not have been together for an opportunity for a 3rd. that is why the game was a loss.
Compher should never ever be 2C again. Try anyone else. Try Copp again for the first time this year. Maybe he'd wake up. Try Kasper again if that doesn't work. Maybe it would wake Marco up after a lengthy stay down lineup. Try Danielson or even Rasmussen if neither of those work.
The Wings are losing 23-37 the last 3 years when Compher and Kane are on the ice together at 5v5. For some perspective, they are winning 22-11 when Kane and Larkin are on the ice together in that time (in much less time). And Kane is also a plus at 5v5 with Kasper and with Copp at center. But for some reason the one center on the roster Kane gets destroyed with is his center the last 7 games. Todd must know something we and the scoreboard don't.
Hard to feel bad even though we lost today. We frickin lit New Jersey up and hell didn't go down silently at the end there in defeat. Starting to feel like good years when we were consistently cup contenders 15-30 years ago.
Heres one issue i see happening alot from this team that seems to be under the radar… THEY ICS THE PUCK LIKE 20 TIMES A PERIOD SMH they need to stop or be more accurate with their long stretch passes if it works great we get odd man rushes and good chances but if it doesnt you ice the puck over and over just gifting them the zone…
Wings were better in just about every phase of the game but the final score. Games like this happen throughout a long season unfortunately. Tonight’s loss definitely was not from a lack of effort.
So close to getting a comeback, boys. But that only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades! Next time, huh? I can’t badmouth the Devils. Don’t ask why, suckers.
