The NHL on TNT crew debates whether Patrick Kane deserves a spot on Team USA for the upcoming Olympics. Can the hall of fame winger still make an impact on the international stage, or is it time for a new generation to take over?

If Kane has good scoring numbers and is still healthy at the time, yes, he should be on the team and should be captain. It is a 25 man roster – that's a huge roster and not every spot is 'crucial' and must be filled by a guy you are absolutely relying on to be a huge contributor.
The USA hockey program owes Patrick Kane more than any other men's national program in the world owes any other particular player. That loaded roster people mention as the reason he can't or shouldn't be included is a loaded roster because of WHAT KANE DID. Because of his influence on young American hockey players and on the national program. He has been used as a teaching model for nearly 20 years by the NTDP. That entire roster will be made up of what are basically this guy's hockey offspring.
Kane played on 2 Olympic teams that had serious talent deficits. Gutsy players, gamers, maybe even another 1 or 2 hall of famers (maybe Pavelski, maybe Quick). But not superstars, nobody who could play like he did. He showed up to the World Championships in 18 and 19 and captained and was fantastic, and the program was in transition from what he had played in to the loaded team it is now – he played on those teams w young Eichel, young Quinn and Jack Hughes, young Larkin, young Tage Thompson, young McAvoy, young Werenski. He deserves the opportunity to reap the rewards at the end, if rewards there are to be.
I love Kane but the real thing people are not ready to talk about is the wings have a 40 goal scorer from last season who can better help team USAโฆ Cat has become a great two way player who really does the little things wellโฆ
Yes he should and not only be on the roster but as captain of team USA. Kaneโs the best American born player in the NHL. Having him not on that roster is disrespecting Kane.
"its too early for me to tell, just yet" Why are you yapping then, why is this a subject on the panel if the analysts is gonna throw out some stupid lines like that… NHL on TNT have the gameplan do be a good show but only good analyst there is Hank… The rest are just talking out of their ass
I hope nobody on the wings plays in the Olympics. Go back to the college guys.
If he's healthy, yeah ofc he should be on the team. Even if he only plays on the PP.
absolutley Kane is not an Olymipain. this is going to be all speed and power. Kane is all skill and slow mo.
I argued with a dude in the offseason that he should be if hes productive and healthy. He does things that no other player can do. Its simple as that. I said Nazar may make it too if he continues his good play coming from the worlds and into this season.
Marchand was by far the slowest guy at the 4nations he looks good against 3rd line matchups that he got in Florida last year but in the olympics hell no
Kane is DONE. OLYMPICS. FUCK OFF. HONESTLY. tnt IDIOTS. UNWATCHABLE
