As a Leaf Fan since 65 It’s safe to say I’m looking forward for a loss that way I don’t need to feel like I’m going to buy back their Bull shit and in need a shrink for the rest of the season .
Leafs play a game that is all about giving the puck to Matthews. You can see when they are in the O zone players pass up on taking shots so they can find Matthews. When Matthews isn't there the players are free to take advantage of opportunities that come their way. Basically they can play like a team and just not setup pieces for Matthews.
The weirdest part is how much the Leafs players hate each other. No comradery, no team dinners…they hate each other and want nothing to do with each other. You can see this on the ice as well. I am predicting a shutout tonight and a few broken sticks from the Leafs.
This team should be dressing Pazetta on the 4th line every single night. I dont care about his stats or skill level, he brings something the leafs dont have……..heart. And some edge and the willingness to pay a price to get the win.
I really don't care what happens this season. Our best bet is free agency. We have nothing to trade. Get rid of some baggage at the trade deadline and wait. I sure hope Brad doesn't do anything stupid again. Bandages aren't a long term solution.
How old was Auston Matthews the last time he had a fantastic game? last year, two years ago, three years ago?

Nick – listen to Nate's response on you trying to tee up a Matthews hot take that he is not the player who scored 69 "rips". Nate's played at the highest level, and as an outsider looking in, he's saying this guy has evolved his game to be elite two way.. think about it guy. I'm not trying to defend him but being mean and physical, or an elite goal scorer, are not the only traits of making you captain material. Barkov is a perfect example of that. Matthews isn't the scapegoat you think he is. I think you can't make a team out of just barkov types or Matthews types but that's a Treliving problem. He needs to fill out the team around him with physical and get under your skin type guys, otherwise the Barkov and Matthews types will get run out of town, everyday. That's why Ive always criticized the Rielly deal. His contribution for the dollar value doesn't justify the intangibles this team needs in key positions whether it's in top 6 forward group or top pairing defensemen.. that's the issue

I'm betting that Stolarz has been dealing with post-concussion symptoms this year. I have had a bad concussion before and it took me years to feel somewhat normal again. One of the toughest and most unpredictable injuries to deal with.
