If he's hitting 38.5" there, then his true max vertical is easily over 40"… Jumping to smack a piece of plastic is completely different from catching a high lob above the rim, a dunk off an offensive rebound, or blocking a shot from behind. 100% different.
Honestly that is good but not crazy. I had a 38.1 inch standing vertical when I was 37 years old. Myles garret is 270lbs and had a 41 inch vertical standing and Clowney had a ad 38 inch standing and he weight 267lbs. I really shows you how much more of genetic freaks the NFL has than any other sport.😊
