  1. I disagree about the trade win or lose. Let's look at this after 2 or 3 years. D-man typically takes longer to develop. That is just a fact. Not everyone is a Hutson or a Schaefer that takes the league by storm. It does not help that the Blues are not doing well. Mailloux could still develop to be a solid RHD. RHDs do not grow on trees. Bolduc is a top 9 forward so far. Both of them are still young and have room to grow.
I like the trade for the Habs because they have too many young D in the system.

  2. I'll go with the crowd and say it's way too soon to judge… as an example, Alexandre Carrier only established himself in the nhl at 24 y.o.

  3. Logan Mailloux was overrated. Perhaps, he will become a NHL player. Right now, he is a good AHL player. Habs traded him because they knew he is no better than anyone of the defensemen they now have. He never impressed the team when he was called up.

  4. Way too early to call. Yes, St. Louis expected LM would be able to play as a regular NHL D man this season. They were wrong. Does this mean he won't develop into a top 4 D in the future? No. Too early to make that call. MTL wins insofar as they acquired a NHL regular so they win – for now.

  5. Mailloux not an NHL player yet. Zac Bolduc an NHL player now. That was always the case. Question is what kind of NHL player will Mailloux develop into? Or Not? Zac Bolduc at 22 looks like a half point a game NHL player. How good or not will he eventually be?

  6. You're such a Homer…
This trade cannot be judged as a win or lose, 1 month into a season…
Bolduc has played in 100 more NHL games than Mailloux.
Ivecsaid this before…Al MacInnis (a person that could take everything You & I know about Defenseman, roll it up in the shape of a needle, stick it in his eye, and it wouldn't even hurt), says You won't know what you have in a Dman, until they've played 300 games in the NHL…
Mailloux is 22, with less that 20 games under his belt…Did the Blues over evaluate Mailloux, claiming he's NHL ready ? Absolutely…So what do You do with someone that Young, that actually requested not to be drafted when he was, when their confidence has been shattered ? … You send them back to their comfort zone. You mentor them, guide them, teach them. This is a kid that pretty much dominated the AHL, so send him back, and let him find himself again…
Not to go comparing apples to oranges, but you only need to look at the end of the Habs bench, to see one Patrick Laine. The biggest difference there is, for $7M more, you're not going to send Laine, down to the minors…Both are shattered emotionally right now. Unable to put the pieces of success before them, and regain what they once had, at different stages of their careers. Mailloux has a future, and a career ahead of him, Laine has seemingly lost control of his.
As a Blues and Bolduc fan, I'm going to root for Bolduc throughout his career. He's a great person, and I hope that transcends into his becoming a great player. Even though he's been traded to another team, I'm not going to turn on him, the way you have Mailloux. I hadn't subscribed to your channel until just about the time this trade was made, but it would have been interesting to hear your opinion of Mailloux, tearing up the AHL, and his success in his handful of games as a Hab…You're brutal dude. Pretty much Heartless, and a backstabber…
The trade is what it is, but as I referred to at the start, Al MacInnis would tell you to calm your jets and relax for a few years, before you prematurely declare a winner…You're the winner for 2 months, but as You mentioned, things have cooled from the rapid success Mr. Bolduc took part in, at the start of the season…
    Go Get Em Zac….

  7. wonder if Mailloux's skill set in the NHL is better served as a defensive forward than d-man, usually it works the other way like Burns and Buf but if the skating and shot are there if all else fails it might be worth while

  8. Too early to say who (won). Bolduc is a streaky player. Mailleux has lost confidence so sending him back to the AHL would be good for him

  9. I don't understand why this fidi meshar sholes is all out of content in the middle of the season. We already had a very long summer, and lots of nonsense was talked by hockey youtubers . Don't start this crap before june please

  10. As a lifelong Habs fan I was happy with this trade – BUT IMHO it will require (give or take) 5 years, or more, to determine the winner of a typical trade. There are exceptions to this – with a winner being obvious sooner. Mailloux needs more seasoning in the AHL= very normal/typical – give him time and I think he'll be fine

  11. Mailloux need time in the AHL to develop in the NHL but now if you not product as soon you hit the NHL you are considered as a bust !

  12. It's way too soon to call victory on this trade. Logan Mailloux still has A LOT of run rate. This is so wrong.
