The Peterka for Doan and Kesselring trade looks like a win-win for the Sabres and Mammoth

As the Utah Mammoth are in Buffalo, it’s an opportunity to take a look at the big offseason trade between the Sabres and Mammoth that included JJ Peterka, Josh Doan, and Michael Kesselring. At the moment, both teams are getting exactly what they wanted out of that deal, making it the rare ‘win-win’.

How good has Peterka been for Utah so far? Will Josh Doan continue to perform at a top-six level? When will Kesselring’s role expand? Plus, the Sabres are dealing with limited forward options without Jason Zucker and Jiri Kulich.

  1. This is exactly who Kesslering was in Utah and will be here. A dependable defenseman that will occasionally fill in the gaps of injury. He does become a liability as he plays more time though. 3rd pair is a strong fit for him.

  2. Tribute video should be of j.j. never smiling after a goal. He was so unhappy here. Sorry not sorry, don't miss him at all.

  3. The Sabres have been competitive, but now it's time to GET SERIOUS.

If they fail to win the Stanley Cup, FIRE RUFF AND ADAMS. And then, Pegula needs to SELL THE TEAM.

  4. Great vid Joe. I wanted to share a brief story…

I have been a diehard Locked on Sabres listener. I started using the game time app and spent tens of thousands of dollars. Unfortunately, I am completely broke now. The deals were so good and Joe sold it so well. Just use this as a cautionary tale.
