I don't see how people thought the Oilers were going to be off to a good start when they lost a big chunk of the team. Perry, Brown, Kane, Coffey, etc etc. Adding young guys who have never played in the NHL! You cannot just change the team drastically and expect them to be better. This is the after effect of 2 back to back SCF loses and losing alot of players. I hope they get out of this funk sooner than later
We need a starting goalie. We haven't had one for almost 3 years. Last year, Skinner was 43rd in gsax for goalies with more than 15 games. The oilers allowed the lowest high danger chances in the league last year.

It goes without saying the Oilers need better goal tending, and grit…this may not happen until next season. Until then hire a coach who can work with the "D". Maybe the Oilers need two – one to work with offensive minded D like Bouchard, and another who can work with the team as a whole so they become more defensively responsible.
The Oilers always seem to need some adversity to get going…..no matter what the players say there has to be some effect from going to and losing 2 finals in a row
