Nothing wrong with sending him down. It is likely better for him overall. Gives him more time to grow and develop. It also means the Leafs don't burn a year off his ELC. Many may not remember that Nylander spent a season with the Marlies too. I think it's a good idea not to rush players into the NHL. Sure, they are exceptions, like Crosby, Ovechkin, Matthews and McDavid, but those are the exceptions, not the norm.
