The fellas are back with one week to go before the season opener and plenty to discuss. Donny, Alex, and JR sort through the final roster decisions for the team. Who makes the most sense for the roles they would need to play? Is Lucic on the Opening Night roster realistic & if the Fowler contract was an overpay?

I want that JOBU shirt!
Lucic is so slow on the ice, he makes Maroon look fast. Watch video on how long it takes him to get up to speed. He is too slow for our 4th line (quite a bit slower than Faska). He is not worth it, even for leadership purposes and a few fights a year. I think it would be a mistake but we'll see what happens.
6.1 for Cam Fowler is fine, as long as ownership can keep affording to spend close to cap. That might be tricky in the STL market without raising ticket prices too much.
I like the Fowler contract but I am skittish also bc of extensions with Leddy and previous D that didn't age particularly well
Excited to see the next 2 lineups with more veteran/actually on the team players. I do wonder if the Blues had hoped they'd have gotten to that point sooner than this, but between wanting extended looks at some young guys (good) and no one definitively grabbing the 3rw position, here we are. Hopefully we play a good couple final pre-season games, and the guys are ready to go!
Let's Go Blues!
Last night is a shining example of why trading Kyrou would have been a massive setback. We saw Holloway without Kyrou. You could see him go to quiet areas of the ice expecting the puck back. Those 2 are money together. Texier will clear waivers. He's a low end top 6 guy that isnt reliable, no one's going to claim him
Lucic, Texier, and Joseph are all vulnerable. Dvorsky is very close, he's going to be up at some point this season. Stenberg is very close too, he's come a long way this past year, he's going to be ready next year and possibly late this year if an injury occurs. Lucic could be the 13th man and play against physical teams. Texier has a lot of skill but has never figured it out, if Monty can't get it out of him, he's gone.
really enjoy these, guys! Great work and keep'em coming! -JH
RobTom started on the 3rd Line, on the wing, and under controlled minutes. I see Dvorsky following that model. Him being on the 3rd line with Schenn or Suter as the center, protects him while giving him needed NHL experience to grow. Dvorsky has shown all the skills but he just seems hesitant. NHL experience should help that hesitation subside.
Lucic is old slow and doesn’t bring anything useful to the team. I don’t understand all these talking heads acting like he’s been some kind of standout in training camp. He was hot garbage in the game last night and was the most veteran player on the ice.
I said it last night I'll say it again. I'm still panicking. but a little less now
can we clean up the comments. hella spam
Another awesome podcast! Very informative & entertaining!
One of the worst performances by band I ever saw was Blink182 at riverport. Green Day opened for them for some reason and did a banger. One of the best shows I saw there. We were hyped. Then out came Blink. Adam did a bunch of crappy jokes instead of playing. My whole crew left and the entire lawn emptied out after being full for Green Day. The parking lot was a traffic jam halfway through the show. I wasn't the only one to think it sucked, so did thousands of other people. Barker in his twirling drum kit couldn't even stop the tidal wave of people leaving. Best band ever……worst take ever😂😂😂
I'd rather lucic dropping the gloves rather than scheen
I like to keep a blink-182 song on my phone as an alarm because they’re so annoying.
I thought this was a video about the Blues…seven minutes and no Blues talk yet….
Go see Bowling for Soup. Freakin' phenomenal.
Fowler deal makes little sense. Why the rush to sign him now? Let the season play out to make sure he's still a good fit and has not lost a step. Remember that Scandella and Leddy were instant "success" but after signing their deals, each turned into a pumpkin. Having Fowler for four more seasons, as opposed to two or three, potentially blocks a younger, cheaper player who could blossom into comparable talent.
Only 13 times has a defenseman, age 36 or older, put up 50 points in a season (since 2004-05). Eight of those seasons belong to Niklas Lidstrom, Mathieu Schneider, and Brent Burns.
My biggest concern is the lack of depth on defense, last year we had plenty .
