The Oilers trade a number of warm bodies only for a Starter Vezina potential Goalie! Tage Thompson is not a priority! A #1 Goaltender has to be the priority! I'm sure McDavid discussed that with Bowman before he signed his extremely team friendly 2 yr. extension! Oilers owe McD! McDavid would be really pissed if Bowman didn't explore every option to get that kind of #1 starter goalie at Trade deadline or before if that kind of goalie were ever made available!

Funny, our goaltending tandem took the oilers to the finals twice in a row but everyone thinks we need goaltending…… what are you watching? What if, What if the oilers just had one or two more goals in those finals, would they have won? But goaltending, that’s what is needed, so the smart masses believe

Hot take: whoever gets Thompson will be the cup favorite this year. The guy makes half of what he should so almost every contender could make him fit without giving up a high cap player back.

Tage is great but aside from stats where does he fit? For me the issue isn’t how amazing he is but how does he take the wing from Hyman. Is Hyman as offensive as Tage, no. Would he agree, yes but that’s not the issue. Hyman adds puck pursuit, net front and grind. Is that Tage? No. Could Tage be a great addition to Drai’s line? Yeah probably, now that’s a conversation I’m interested in. Put Frederic/Mangia on that line. I think I’d rotate until someone pops from those two. for a winner, but one of those would be a good compliment. Maybe.
Right now I’m mostly concerned that Drai is still with McD and this is a huge issue for me.
