My biggest takeaway is that our top guys need to show up and force a game like that into OT. No reason not to at least get one point. For me it starts with Tage but Dahlin was also at times just not in the fight.
Don't take it too hard, you guys put up a good game, we're just kind of on a solid growth trajectory right now. We saw flashes of what won those games against Florida and Ottawa, there just needs to be belief that the team can replicate it. Also we had Dobes in nets. It was kind of going to be an uphill battle for you from the start (although Lyon was very impressive)
When it was 1-1 MTL was so bad in the second period Buff could have taken the lead.Buffalo has very low scoring IQ players and their defense is pretty bad.I never much watch the Sabres but since they were playing the habs I got to see them in action. I never thought their D was that bad but is they should have held on to Reinhart and Eichel and not hang on to Power he was trade bait at one time now he is worth very little.If I was Buffalo I would go after the Habs D they have lots imo Engrstrom should be in the NHL he is rotting in Laval and maybe Struble or Reinbacher can be had as well albeit Reinbacher is a big injury risk. Calgary already seems to not be high on Parehk I would inquire about him as well. Management needs to be very active seeking D help look at Chicago they are a better more competitive team this year because they put together a nice D core.
Havs fan here really do feel.bad fir the Buffalo fan base.Unlike so many American teams Buffalo really is a hockey town.Probably Captain obvious here but the GM needs to go.
Buffalo played well. Montreal's goaltender is hot right now. Buffalo dominated the 2nd period and held Montreal to 4 shots while getting a lot of good chances. Sabres have a lot of early season injuries but seem to be adjusting. A 1pt loss plus the empty netter is a close game.
Montreal is a fast team. Florida is a slow team. Fast teams expose slower teams on transitions. Florida makes up for this by being bruising and wearing teams down.
Good luck to you guys, you deserve more for living through this endless rebuild.
9-0 lol this is why Buffalo is so bad, the believe they are way better then they really are. Don't even get me going on team culture. Look at how Florida is playing and how Montreal is playing.
