Dan Boyle Answers Your Questions! | EP 105 Sharks’ Opening Night Roster, Dellandrea 3C Reaction

Dan Boyle takes your questions!

In a special mailbag, the San Jose Sharks legend takes a question from the equally-legendary Randy Hahn, tells us why the President’s Trophy-winning 2008-09 Sharks got swept in the first round, how an NHL locker room would react to an openly-gay player, why he joined the San Jose Hockey Now Podcast, and shares a hilarious locker room prank story.

Insider Sheng Peng and prospects guru Keegan McNally also share their thoughts about the San Jose Sharks’ opening night roster and Tuesday’s lines, including Ty Dellandrea taking the third-line center job, at least for now, from Michael Misa and Philipp Kurashev.

Dan Boyle answered his many questions first!

  1. Dear Sheng, thank you very much, you now sound like the lead singer of Chicago. Now my ears also love the show ❤

  2. I have another movie based question for you guys…if you could go back in time to be on set for the filming of any movie, which movie would it be and why?

  3. There is no valid defence of Warso and his weird obsession with Goodrow… he actively hurts the team every time he’s on the ice. Not only is he the worst player in the league he’s also a giant bitch baby that doesn’t even want to be here! What’s the point of the coaching staff screaming “ earn it” if they are just going to give the spots to unarguably terrible players?

  4. Hey Guys,
As a guy who never played hockey and never learned how to effectively stop skating properly I have a shit ton of dumb questions that have occurred to me as I have watched Sharks hockey over the lastd 30+ years. So here goes Dan:

    1) What is the deal with guys going to the boards to retrieve a puck they know a guy is bearing down on them and it appears like one of the defensive moves is to stick the top hand elbow out about chin high to deter getting smashed into the boards? Is that a thing or am I just seeing things that aren't there?

    2) Dan have you ever seen the movie Billie The Kid vs. Dracula?

    3) Have you guys seen The House That Dripped Blood. Scarred the shit out of me when I was 9. hehe

    4) When you were a kid Dan was there any type of scary creature more so than another that scared you the most? For me it was vampires. Those fuckers scared the shit out me so that until I was about 10 I had recurring nightmares being chased by a vampire! hahaha

    5) Are you guys familiar with Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush? If you are have you heard Frank's story about how he became a guitar player. It will blow your mind. Straight Hollywood stuff in that you can't make this kind of stuff. The truth is stranger than fiction. There are many interviews both written and audio where Frank has talked over the years about how he came to play guitar it's a crazy story worth hearing. Plus if you don't know Frank he is one of Canada's best kept secrets and a phenomenal guitar player.

    Thanks guys.

  5. Questions for Dan:
    – Whats your favourite card game of all time?

    – What would be your “dream” starting lineup of players you’ve played with?
