I didn’t watch the game, but I look at the stat lines and noticed that even with almost 20:00 of ice time John Tavares had a shot goal and a -2 but contributed practically nothing. Maybe Coach Berube should sit him for the next game, to send as strong a message as possible that losing is just not tolerated anymore. Sure Tavares won 1/2 of the face-offs that he took but among remaining members of the AM34-Nylander-Rielly-Tavares quartet, all but Tavares threw hits, blocked shots or put up points. The power-play also needs to be fixed as the Leafs have yet to, following the end of preseason play last weekend, score a goal on the PP and indeed have already allowed a goal against, not to mention a goal already allowed against the penalty kill.
