Paul Maurice: Florida Panthers Raise Banner, Beat Blackhawks in Opener



Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice meets the media after they opened the 2025-26 NHL season with a 3-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025.

Florida raised its 2025 Stanley Cup banner before the game.

Spencer Knight made 34 saves against his old team; Sergei Bobrovsky had 17 in the win.

A.J. Greer, Carter Verhaeghe, and Jesper Boqvist all scored for Florida.

  1. The Panthers should of held on to Spencer Knight. The Panthers would of easily had at least two more goasl if it were not for his performance in the net. Chicago has a lot of young, very talented players. They are going to be a force to reckon with.
