Danny Brière GETS HONEST About Flyers Defense!

Flyers GM Danny Brière sat down for an in-depth interview about the Philadelphia Flyers’ blue line — and he did not hold back.

Brière revealed the team’s defensive pairs, praised standouts like Adam Ginning and Noah Juulsen, and was brutally honest about players who struggled, including Egor Zamula and Helge Grans.

He also confirmed that Emil Andrae was sent down partly because of his size, even while reaffirming his belief in Andrae’s long-term potential. Plus, updates on Cam York’s injury, Dennis Gilbert’s roster status, and how the Flyers’ defense is shaping up heading into the 2025–26 season.

  1. Ginning & Juulson are light years better than Zamula, Andrea or Grans. I still want to see Mcdonald in the lineup. We need big stay at home d men!

  2. Danny saying that Juulson showed improvement… either he's lying or he's stupid, and i don't think he's stupid.

  3. This defense stinks and until they make a deal for better DMan than I'm stuck watching Zamula and Jullson and they are garbage

  4. Sketchy d-men, sketchy goaltending, gonna be an interesting year. Hopefully Risto and York get back on the ice soon, they’re not great, but better than what we have to open the season.

  5. I always thought that the Flyers d-men were too small and often get out muscled along the boards. I like Sanheim for the most part but for a big guy he plays small physically. Risto and Seeler are solid. York seems caught between focusing on defense or providing offense but doesn't do either that well. Drysdale has the most upside in my opinion and seems to be improving both on defense and offense. I still think the Flyers team as a whole are too small and not great in the trenches.
