Good for him! He gets to play behind a real defense now with REAL goal support!
Was definitely done dirty by torts and dillibaugh, not sure why that man still has a job.
Upset to see him go but the cap space alone is worth the move! Also agree on seeing nothing from Kolosov. Not sure why they still believe in him, he just ain't it chief.
I have confidence on only 2 goalies in the organisation are Ersson and Zavrigin
Thanks Rachel and Russ. Enjoyed the two game analysis. The Rangers looked well prepared. Yes, they lost the first game, but the learned quickly from their mistakes. I hope that the new coaching staff will take note from the two games and be able to adjust quickly to game like conditions. Also, the goaltending looked bad. I assume that the goalies are 2 years away at least. Numerous times they weren't quick to respond to the puck, and they seemed to have trouble tracking it. That has me a little worried. If Kolosov can't get his act together, and the other one doesn't pan out, we could be back to square one; we hunt for a used up veteran to be our number one, and then keep Vladar for another couple of seasons. Typical Flyers drama. Still no number one center, and Coots is on his downside. Who's starting on our defense this season? Who's on the IR? So many questions about the team. See you tomorrow.
Fedotov will play regularly in Columbus and become a star goaltender…..Tortorella screwed him over.
Russ you complain about having too many goalies then get mad when they trade the oldest and equally bad goalie.
Wow, didn’t see a scenario where Russ would criticize a player for ‘trying to be too creative offensively.’ It’s a rookie exhibition game.
I was listening to nasty knuckles pod cast the other day and they were talking to the Schenn brothers and the asked Luke about how his career has been extended. He talked about the work he and many other players have put in with Adam Oates. Do you know of any Flyers that are working with Oates? And do you think any franchise would hire Oates as a coach or perhaps have him run a “camp” type session at some point. I know he has a list of players around the league that he works with but I’ve never heard any Flyers mentioned.
I’m not upset at all that Fedotov was moved instead of Kolosov.
Kolosov is younger and more athletic, in my opinion Fedotov was the second coming of Michael Leighton a big guy that does not track the puck well enough because he drops as the stick goes up for a shot. A goalie like that looks good when the puck hits them it lose the ability to direct rebounds out of trouble. Kolosov has a long way to go to become an NHL regular but he also has a longer runway and is considerably cheaper at this point. If the Flyers saw them as neck and neck I’m not surprised with the trade based on age and term.
