They can't possibly put Tippett on the 1st line with Zegrass & Michkov. They are terrific passers & set-up guys, but Tippett will still miss the open nets. TK, Foerstar, even the youngster Grebenkin might be better. Couts gets the others on the 2nd line. Cates should center the 3rd line with Brink on 1 of his wings, with the other. I'm thinking size & grit on the 4th line with Hathaway & Abols with maybe Grebenkin.
Eerson is this century's Version of boosh, if he gives up 10 goals on 13 shots he's still the number 1, every goal scored on him NO goalie could stop there's always an excuse, I garuntee no matter what he'll get a 3-5 year extension, the Flyers want him to be their franchise guy, he's #33 black face mask and plays for 3 weeks and sucks the rest of hurt, they want him to be what they wanted boosh to be
Question: Does Abols have to clear waivers to be sent down, and with his positive play in preseason do you think there is any chance he would be claimed?
I know fighting has changed a lot, but having Nick in the lineup, keeps a balance on the team, that take cheap shots against our good players. Imagine Nick not on his team anymore you don't have a luxury that you can use, to protect players when needed. Yeah it's not the old days anymore but you still need a guy like Nick on your team, he can still fight any still presents when he's on the ice. 19:42

I agree Foerster is the guy for the Z/Mich line, but until he’s up to speed, why not Cates?
Trade Konecny for a good young defensemen to make place for Tippett on the right side or trade Brink and something else

I didn't find Tocc's comments regarding Abols very reassuring. He is a solid bottom-6 forward. A team will see value in him by the trade deadline, and they will get something in return for this rebuild. Buy out Deslauriers' final year and move on.
