Why would McDavid sign long term with Edmonton when he knows by now that since Bettman "Americanized" the league in 94 that no Canadian team has won and no two Canadian teams have gone to the finals since he took over??? Not a "conspiracy" or a "coincidence". Bettman and his henchmen decided in 94 that they will never allow a team outside the USA to ever win again. 31-0 and counting. Plus lightning struck twice with the Oilers making it two years in a row to the finals but the odds of a third are unlikely. Bettman would be ecstatic if McDavid and Matthews get so tired of losing that they sign with American teams. The NHL is an American first league now (since 94 actually) so it is just moving chairs around on the Titanic as far as a Canadian team ever winning again. Prove me wrong please!
