Meanwhile, Sheldon Dries, William Lagesson, John Leonard, Ian Mitchell and Dominik Shine have been placed on waivers, signaling the first big wave of cuts. #LGRW

I look at all the mediocrity on D and I wish they could have made the Erik Karlsson thing work out. Sure he has his flaws but he still has tons more upside than Chairot, Hamonic, Docker, or Gustafson
We have 5 third pair D and that is where the problem lies.

I hope Ed pairs up with AlJo in Toronto and with Seider at home. So Detroit knows where they stand.
The guy is just a machine, and I hope no one noticed that he trains MMA in his spare time. I love Ed and his game, and when people start messing with him, it's always funny.
This D lineup is exactly why no playoffs again.
Why can't we have as D pairs:
Johansson Seider
Edvidsson ASP
Chariot JBD
Gustavsson
I think that ASP has been making strides in every game and definitely getting use to North American ice. I would give ASP 9 games.
Can anyone convince me that ASP is NOT the 3rd best D on this team right now? Good luck. He should play with the big boys day one. People talk about his "flaws" as if 1/2 the veteran D on this team are impeccable. FFS, Chariot is in the wrong position more times than not, and there is no way ASP can play as dumb. Let ASP learn with Mclelland and play alongside Seider or Ed

The defensive pairs are brutal.
Constant praise for Johansson, but as soon as he's taken away from Edvinsson, you guys lump him in with "replacement" level players. Constantly accepting that Chiarot works just fine for now with Seider while simultaneously bemoaning how bad he is. And constant shitting on our defense in general, despite our top 4 actually being just fine or even good, and our bottom pair being a question mark, not even a known quantity yet.
How much time did Chiarot and Johansson even spend together? Why is JBD being talked about like he won't contribute anything? Didn't he look good so far? Come on, guys.
Yzerman has to make a deal in the first month to bring in a solid 2nd line Defenseman. 🤷🏻♂️
